Looking for a mother's helper. Not required to drive, but must have reliable transportation to get here and back. Looking for someone who is fun and ready to play with a 2 and 4 year old, also capable of bathing and feeding meals, dressing and putting to bed as needed. Availability weeknights between 5 and 8pm.

Currently expecting my third child and going to need some occassional weeknight help when husband travels or has fire duty once I am in my third tri. Also once baby is born in those first few months of collicky/witching hour phase going to need same help for my older two while I tend to the baby. Let me know if you have a daughter, family member, babysitter you can recommend for this.

    Thanks!

I was wondering if you found anyone. I'm expecting our 2nd child, and I have a 2 year old, plus my husband works during the day and goes to law school at night. If you have a few names, would you mind PMing me with them? :)

Sorry, but I haven't even been able to get one referral from the board. I don't get why it's so hard to find a babysitter. Maybe young girls are doing something else for work these days!

Have you checked the Broadlands newsletter? There are lists of kids willing to do such work published there.

I think, if you are looking for help going into the school year, that is a tough time. My daughter will be 16 in October. She has Mrching band practice 2 nights a week, music lessons 1 day and she has a heavy courseload. German 3 and AP world histiry among them.

Most HS kids are booked with tons of homework and after school sports...whatever. You may have better luck with a student going to NOVA.

Excellent point Brassy. I am finding that even when I do get a response, it's a major availability issue.

I'm still looking for younger mother's helpers between hours of 5 and 8pm, weeknights, beginning in September, no regular schedule, just on as needed basis. Even if someone is only available one night per week that's helpful. Looking to put together a network of help during this busy season for me.

Also have a need for additional experienced babysitters for when I need to be out of the house, occassional weeknights/weekends, must be experienced with toddlers and infants: comfortable feeding, bathing and putting to bed. Please PM me with background, availability and interest.

    Thanks!!!

In the Broadlands Newsletter there is a list of Helpers, including Mother's Helpers, hopefully that is helpful to you.

On a side note, if you can get Brassy's daughter to help you, she is great and has watched our little guy since Feb '08.

    Hello,
I know this post was from a while ago but if you still need help, I am available. I am female,22, no criminal backround.Live nearby, across from bonefish/steakhouse. I have worked in peds for the past few years and am now looking for nanny positions. I understand this is not full time but extra help. I am CPR ertified. I also have a sister that is 17 who works at gym daycare, and my mom, who owned her own daycare for over 25 years. Usually, if I am busy working elsewhere they are fantastic with kids and could help you.
    thanks!
