    Pond Exploration All ages
    Saturday, Sept 23 10:00-11:00
Who lives in Bullfrog Pond? You may have seen the ducks, turtles, snakes, and frogs, but did you know there is a whole world of life living in the bottom of the pond. Join us as we search for dragonfly larvae, caddisflies, fish and other neat creatures. Your clothes may get dirty and your shoes may get muddy so dress appropriately. Meet at Bullfrog pond at 10:00 am. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

    Survival! (ages 6-8)
    Monday, Sept 11 3:00-4:00
From thorns and tendrils to teeth and talons, plants and animals are equipped with an amazing array of structures and behaviors to help them stay alive. In this program, students will identify unique survival adaptations through an interactive game and get an up-close look at feathers, skulls, and antlers. We will also show a live animal and discuss the adaptations it has to survive.

    Rockin’ Reptiles (ages 3-5)
    Wednesday, Sept 13 10:00-11:00
Discover the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians as we explore the nature center and the outdoors looking for these creatures and their habitats. We will talk about scales and slimy skin egg-laying and life cycles. We will get an up-close look at a live reptile and make a reptile craft to take home.

    Marvelous Mammals (ages 3-5)
    Wednesday, Sept 20 10:00-11:00
Furry and warm blooded? It must be a mammal. Let’s find out which mammals live in this area and how they survive. We will talk about where they live and what they eat. We will get an up-close look at a live mammal and make a fun mammal craft to take home.

All Programs are $5.00. Please stop by the Nature center or email naturalist@broadlandshoa.com to register. A minimum number of paid registrations must be made or program will be cancelled.

Thanks for including a Saturday activity! I always read about these interesting activities during the week (when we are at work and the kids are at school/summer camp) and wish they could attend. We are going to try to make the activity at the pond.

I try to include one Weekend or evening program every month, for just that reason. Unfortunately, many of the weekend programs have been cancelled due to lack of participants. If you are going to come, please call or stop by the Nature Center ahead of time to register your kids. And spread the word, if I do not get participants in these weekend programs, I am going to have to stop planning them.
Thanks for the feedback, it is always appreciated.
