"If you don't initiate the youth, they will burn down the village." African proverb

We're looking for fathers of 12 and 13 year olds who are interested in Rites of Passage.

In a society where the media and external forces teach that status and money are the most important things in life to strive for, and with the lack of rituals and spiritual guidance to safely lead our boys into healthy young adulthood, they need something more.

We do have certain passages in life that mark transitions – Elementary School to Middle School, Middle School to High School, acquiring a drivers license, etc. But none of these get to the heart of what it means to move forward as a well-rounded person.

Our young boys need to experience a tough and exciting journey that leads them to an inward focus on values, beliefs, discovering God-given gifts, and their place in the world no matter what their religion or belief. Through “Imagine” we are embarking on such a journey that will introduce both Fathers and their sons to the deeper realities of everyday life. This journey will lead to a powerful, transformational Rite of Passage.

This kind of journey will challenge boys to prove to themselves that they are strong, capable, and immensely worthy young men who are invaluable to our society. It is a journey and adventure that forever changes them and will lead them to becoming better family members, future fathers - if they so choose, friends, leaders and neighbors.

We invite all fathers who have son(s) in 7th or 8th grade (beginning in the fall) to consider being a part of this journey. Please contact me if you want learn more. We expect fathers or male guardians to actively participate in the process as together we are explorers and creators of this Adolescent Rites of Passage program.
