Speed Traps

6/11/08 12:43PM - Heading towards Brambleton on LCP right over the 267 bridge in front of the Exxon Gas station.

 

Sorry. I don't think this qualifies as a "speed trap".

I don't believe that they constantly enforce the speed limit there. Also, I personally think there should be more enforcement around here. Far too little police presence.

 

It's within 200 feet of the 267 bridge where there is present in the moring going east on LCP and within 1000 feet of Shellhorn where there is also a cop present there regularly. I just want to give the heads up.
I'm not much of a speeder myself however their present lately around that area makes me feel like I'm driving through the inner city (ok not quit the bad but you get my point) then a nice area.

 

There has been a cop down at the bottom of the hill on Truro Parish near the Sunoco on several mornings. He parks his car and stands with a radar detector for people coming down the hill.

haha i think LoCo Pkwy is a big long speed trap

i set my cruise control for the speed limit every time i hit that road. learned the hard way, twice.

 

whats with LoCo pkwy going from 45 to 25 in front of the Redskins training park, then back to 45?!?!? theres nothing there and no reason for a 25 mph drop! t

 

That has been around for atleast since Nov 06 and probably even longer..There is nothing there other than an road suddenly changing for a 2-lane divided road to a single road without a median. It can be tricky if you come around that bend (where the lanes merge on N. LoCo) and stil main a speed of 45.

Having said that, it is infuriating (sp??) that a section of less than 1/2 mile is "unfinished/single-lane"..especially when that section is right in front of Redskins park..You would have figured the 'Skins can spare some chance (more like a drop from the bucket) to improve the road!!
