    Hello,

I can't believe it, but my dear neighbor reminded me that the time to book summer camp is here. I have twin 5 year old girls that will be entering 1st grade in the fall. Can you please tell me about any camps that your kids have enjoyed and that you have been happy with? (and that are reasonably priced )

    Thank you!!!

We love Baby Ballerina. It's very girly girly and it's all indoors- I think it was 150 for a week but I don't remember- we'll be doing it again this year. It's in Sterling and Ms.Lori knows her ballet and her little girls!

I have a flyer from the Loudoun YMCA on their summer camps. It looks like they have some really neat ones. They are held at several LoCo elementary schools (none in Ashburn though) and also at JRs Festival Lakes in Leesburg. The website is ymcadc.org

Also, the Broadlands Nature Center has some week long day camps this summer. My daughter did one last year and loved it and we've signed up for another one this summer too. There is info in the Feb. newsletter.

Little Gym does week long summer camps too.

We've done a week at the Nature center & a week at Little Gym & both were really fun. Little Gym has different themes so you can customize for their interests. Abi keeps bugging me about wanting to go on a hike at the NC again for summer camp:) Also, the PRCS website is getting ready to update w/the 2008 camp guide - http://www.loudoun.gov/Default.aspx?tabid=822

I would love more info as well. I'm looking at ballet/dance, gymnastics, and/or cheerleading camps for my almost 5 year old. Would like to expose her to these in the summer so we can decide on one activity for the Fall. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Still looking for a recommendation: what is your favorite dance studio in the area (specifically ballet)?

ashburn academy of ballet is wonderful and have supported broadlands live and winnie the pooh preschool in the past. ms.elizabeth and ms.katie both have their degrees in teaching ballet- they are all pro and really know how to work with kids. they are on red rum drive and i totally recommend them.
i also like baby ballerina in sterling- but it is not really comparable to ashburn academy of ballet- they are so very different.

we have done summer camps at cheer madness (now cheer dynasty) and always had an awesome time. i heard that the little gym is doing a cheer camp and a dance camp and we might try one this year- they are so great there- we love mr.chad.

Thank you Sunny. I was actually considering Ashburn Ballet so it's nice to get some feedback on them. We have gone to Baby Ballerina before and I agree it's a lot of fun but I want a little bit more formal education which I think I can get at Ashburn Ballet. Which teacher there would you recommend first for a 5 year old?

Also thanks for the Cheer Madness (Dynasty) info. I may try them some day. The Little Gym camps are a lot of fun, we did the cheerleading one during spring break and would totally recommend them to anyone. They are so good with the kids and I appreciate their organization, safety, professionalism and cheerful disposition when it comes to running all their classes and camps.

NVGA (Norther Virginia Gymnastics Academy) has summer camps for all levels of gymnastics. My daughter is on the team there, and we are very happy with their programs. It is on Davies dr, near Belifort Furniture.

Ashburn Ice House has summer camps. Go to their website (www.ashburnice.com) and click on the Camp Registration link in the menu on the left.
