Tech Committee needs help on Santa Photo Day

    As most know, this Saturday is the Broadlands annual photo day with Santa. At the event, the Tech Committee provides a 4x6 photo and a cd-rom disc free to families. This was very successful last year, we received many emails thanking us for the digital photo(s) because a lot of people took the cd and had multiple prints made up for everything from Christmas card mailings to 8x10 prints.

    This year we are finding ourselves short staffed with several members being out of town. As it stands, we will not be able to provide cd-roms this year.

    If anyone would like to volunteer their time to help out, please email me at hornerjo@yahoo.com. We just need a couple more people to help burn and label cds.

    We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend. Thanks!

    I never got a cd-rom last year. I was able to get the photo emailed to me but never knew we could get a cd.

    I hope enough people volunteer - you guys did a great job last year.

    everyone has broadband... why not just email the pictures and save our money?

    Would you like to email 200 3MB photos with cutting and pasting every one by hand then emailing them over Adelphia? Me either.

    Granted, its easier now that I have 512k upload. Anyhow, we decided to put them on our website for download to whoever wants the digital version for a short time period. Anyone of course can elect not to have them placed there at all.

    I responded with an offer to help, but was never even replied to. I'm new to the area and have got to say that the people around here have left a serious sour taste in my mouth. [xx(]

    You did? I replied to everyone that emailed, sorry if I had missed yours. We had enough volunteers and had decided to put the photos online anyhow. We have extended the deletion of the files another day or two because several people have had difficulties downloading the files.

    The tech committee is having our monthly meeting at the community center tonight (Tuesday 12-14) (next to the gas station) - please drop by. Everyone is welcome. 7:30pm.
