Has anyone tried Vintage 50, Grandale Farm Restaurant or The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm. Also anyone know of a good German place in the area?

hmmm. Silk Road would have been on this list had they not closed recently.

    1. Magnolia/Tuskies- so similar and the same ownership- I give them equal rating!
    2. Not your Average Joes
    3. Anothai
    4. Mezza Grill
    5. The shop that caters events at Tarara- gourmet sandwiches and desserts, pasta salads- FABULOUS.

Vintage 50 is very nice, a little pricey but the food is consistently good and my beer drinking friends say their brews are tasty.

i've never been! I'm not a real fan of Asian food so I have a hard time branching out with it. but since the buzz on this place is consistently good, and the boy and the man LOVE Thai- I will get there within the next several days- promise. :)

    1. Lightfoot
    2. American Flatbread
    3. Ciro's Ristorante
    4. Lansdowne
    5. Grandale Farm

I thought that Patowmack Farm, although a unique and different setting, was waaaay overpriced. There are top specialties, such as Clyde's would get top atmosphere, Sweetwater would get best bar scene, Manhattan would get top pizza, and there are a slew of others that qualify if kids are thrown into the mix. But these are my top overall, adult meal choices.

For German, try The Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown. It's a hike through the country, but worth the trip and a nice side trip after a day at Harper's Ferry or Berkeley Springs. http://www.bavarianinnwv.com/

i'm so sad it took me so long to discover My Thai. since rice based cuisines are my least fave- i have a hard time making myself go. but THIS place- DC trendy with spectacular, fresh, flavorful dishes! UNREAL- it is a GOREGOUS place for a happy hour! next time I go I will bring friends- talk about a hidden gem... you would NEVER know how sleek and fab it is until you walk thru the door... don't skip the strawberry Mochi for dessert- if you remember strawberry PDQ as a kid- you will love love LOVE it!

thanks afgm- for the delectable call to action!!!!

Glad you liked it Redon1 I always trust your opinions. Next time try the sticky rice dessert. :)

As a note we were looking for a place last night and saw the Asian Fusion place over near the Shell station. I would not have gone in if I hadn't seen your "logo". The take out food was excellent, but the atmosphere. :rolleyes3: The lighting was way dark. They'd do a lot better if they brightened up the place and improved the curb appeal. Also, I am a huge Rumi fan. Thank you for pointing me there.
