In recent weeks, we’ve learned some very disturbing truths about glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s broad-spectrum herbicide Roundup, which is generously doused on genetically engineered (GE) Roundup Ready crops.

GE crops are typically far more contaminated with glyphosate than conventional crops, courtesy of the fact that they’re engineered to withstand extremely high levels of Roundup without perishing along with the weed.

A new peer-reviewed report authored by Anthony Samsel, a retired science consultant, and a long time contributor to the Mercola.com Vital Votes Forum, and Dr. Stephanie Seneff, a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), reveals how glyphosate wrecks human health.

In the interview above, Dr. Seneff summarizes the two key problems caused by glyphosate in the diet:

    · Nutritional deficiencies

    · Systemic toxicity

Their findings make the need for labelling all the more urgent, and the advice to buy certified organic all the more valid.

In 2009, a French court found Monsanto guilty of lying; falsely advertising its Roundup herbicide as "biodegradable," "environmentally friendly" and claiming it "left the soil clean."

Mounting evidence now tells us just how false such statements are. I don’t believe that Monsanto is one of the most evil companies on the planet for nothing. The company has done absolutely nothing to improve their worldwide influence on human and environmental health.

In the video above, Jeffrey Smith, author of the bestseller Seeds of Deception, says Monsanto, during some reflective moment, must have asked “What would Darth Vader do?” Because what they’ve come up with is a way of pretending that they’re beneficial and then insinuating themselves into the food and agriculture industry, and now it turns out that what they have is very, very dangerous.

It's no mystery when a former Monsanto VP is now the FDA Deputy Commissioner of Food, and..

The former director of the Monsanto-funded Danforth Plant Science Center, is now the director of the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture

A former Vice President of the Monsanto and Dupont-funded pesticide-promoting lobbying group, CropLife, is now the Agriculture Negotiator for the US Trade Representative.

Corporate counsel to DuPont, has been nominated by President Obama to serve as General Counsel for the USDA.

Ellen Kagan, who, as President Obama's Solicitor General, took Monsanto's side against organic farmers in the Roundup Ready alfalfa case, and is now on the Supreme Court.

Former agricultural-development director for the pro-biotech Gates Foundation (a frequent Monsanto partner), served as Obama's USDA Under Secretary for Research Education and Economics and Chief Scientist and is now head of USAID.

Love Round Up. If it's green and growing, it will be brown and dead. But then, I don't eat the weeds and grasses I spray.

Well you might not be eating any vegetation that you have sprayed, but if you eat any non-organic corn or soy products then you are likely eating vegetation that has been sprayed heavily. Over 90% of the U.S. produced corn and soy is engineered to resist Round Up so that it can be sprayed. Look at just about any product on a grocer's shelf and try to find one that doesn't have either a corn or soy based ingredient.

I am guessing the harm of this product to humans was not due to them bending down and eating their lawns.

The average citizen doesn't really care about environmental quality. What we don't see can make us sick. That's what's so frightening. Chemicals are insidious.

You can read an excerpt from "Slow Death by Rubber Duck" at the link below.

    http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=123902198

The book goes into detail about 7 chemicals, each of which is pervasive in our everyday life and each of which has toxic effects on our health. The 7 chemicals are: Phthalates, PFC’s (non-stick), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE’s or flame-retardants), Mercury, Triclosan, Pesticides, and Bisphenol A (BPA). The authors tested how deliberately exposing themselves to these chemicals affects the level of the chemical in their bodies.
