no, it's directed at the poster that used the word "racist," I felt that as a attack and not as something constructive or useful to say.

So you're taking a submissive role because your spouse's culture dictates that to you. This is not a bash of you but your own post asking for help in this situation demands that you rethink your position. Money is green after all.

Calling things cultural differences doesnt change the fact that it's racism. Sorry if that offends, but that doesnt change the facts as you presented them.

"So you're taking a submissive role because your spouse's culture dictates that to you"

my husband would crack up if he read this in reference to me. no, mearen, i'm not taking a submissive role because it is "dictated" to me. relationships (successful ones anyway) are give and take. yes, in this instance, I am yielding, for better or for worse. you have to pick your battles, this is not the end of the world.

i was asking for insight regarding the shopping center being close to my home and not a judgement on myself or my family. regardless of how you interpreted the facts: your words were negative, uncalled for, offesive, and counterproductive, and i see no reason for that in this post.

I agree with you sds. Your characterization of the post as "negative, uncalled for, offesive, and counterproductive," is absolutely accurate. I don't know if you have a lot of experience posting on forums, but unfortunately you will find that people will not hesitate to post comments that they would never say to your face. It is a fact of life -- you take the good with the bad on these forums.

Our forums have been much more civilized of late, but they still have "lurkers" who will "pounce" and criticize at every opportunity.

That said, welcome to the forums. I hope you will find them to be a useful source of information; I certainly have.

thanks, pats. i know this type of thing happens all the time on boards. and i wouldn't have considered the opinion so uncalled for had it been in another topic debating cultural differences or something, but in this thread, it was an attack and had nothing to do with the information i was trying to gain.

thanks for the welcome, the forum seems valuable and i look forward to using it more.

Well, there are a couple of townhomes right next to the Saul going for $420k so I don't think it's an issue.
