A new place called Village Grill just opened on Waxpool where Beef O'Brady's used to be. I hear it is run by a former manager of the Old Dominion Brewery restaurant. I haven't been to the new place so I can't comment on it, but plan to check it out sometime.

Went there last night after my hockey game....they opened it up more than Beef O Bradys was, bigger bar area...still lots of TV's....I thought there was an Old Dominion connection, they had a similar menu as OD.....we just had appetizers, but the soft pretzels were great, beer was cold and sports on all the tv's.....

this is sounding encouraging! Went to OD last week for lunch, I had forgotten that they actually make decent food. Their menu has expanded but I was sad to see the tuna sammie with jalapeno sauce was missing. Maybe at this new place??

I stopped in and looked at the menu. Salads, sandwiches, and some fancier entree items like pasta.

Sandwiches were around $9 and the hamburger was $10. Seemed a bit expensive for how the place looked (basically the same as Beef's). Later as I thought about it I realized you probably pay about the same amount at Red Robin, so maybe the prices aren't that far off. Only time will tell if they can start and maintain business.

It's a lot less expensive to grill your own burgers at home....and more tasty. Just my 2 cents worth.....

well- depends on how well you cook and how big you like your burgers, and what you like on the side, and if you just don't feel cooking one night, doesn't it? ;)

i hope every restaurant thread doesn't become hijacked by DIY over support a local restaurant- there are benefits to both. :)
    just MY 2 cents worth.
