For those of you who don't drive by the sign boards in our community, or might miss what's up there, here is a virtual sign board.

I will try to update it as I update the sign board but if anyone notices that I'm behind, feel free to help out.

    Thanks -
    Jan

Pools are closing for the season. The last day to swim is September 1, 2003.

Lost and Found items from throughout the season will be at Southern Walk Pool this week. Claim your lost towels, clothes and pool toys or find something you like and help us get rid of it. After September 1, items that can be donated will be given to a charity, all other items will be discarded.

    Thanks -
    Jan

The Broadlands September Calendar is ready - available at the Nature Center and I remembered yesterday to send it to the webmaster. I can also email you a powerpoint or PDF version (jnewell@broadlandshoa.com).

This weekend, I scheduled (but didn't advertise because I didn't realize September 7 was so close), a trash cleanup on Sunday, the 7th at 4:00pm. Meet at the Community Center on Waxpool Road for trash bags and gloves. Then, go find an area to clean. The muddy section right by the community center needs it but it's been so muddy, no one has ventured in. But, if you have fishing waders, this is the spot for you.

Come back when you finish collecting trash (by 5:00pm) for cold water and juice (and wipes for your hands). Watch out for poison ivy (in fact, stay away from it). I'll have a limited number of trash grabbers (is that what they're called?) and stabbers at the start.

Hope to see you Sunday (unless it's raining, then I'm staying home).

Another Broadlands Community Yard Sale is scheduled for September 20th from 8am to 12pm. The Community Events Committee will advertise in local papers, post Community Yard Sale signs at the entrances to the Broadlands and provide a street map of the Broadlands with particpating homes listed on the reverse.

If you will be selling items at your house, there's still a chance to get your address listed on the map. Call 703-729-9393 or email activities@hoa.broadlands.org by 5:00 Monday, September 15th. Include your street address and if using email, list the items you'll be selling for easy entry into the yard sale spreadsheet which will be available at the HOA website starting Wednesday (hoa.broadlands.org).

The printed map will be available at the Nature Center on Friday from 9am to 5pm and outside at the Community Center at 43004 Waxpool Road the day of the yard sale.

    Thanks -
    Jan
