Inquired three years ago when several co-workers were having the procedure performed by the surgeon who did Tiger Woods eyes. I guess it wasn't successful for Tiger since he didn't see what was coming his way:rolleyes3: Sorry, I couldn't resist!

I've known people to have surgery on one eye at a time. If the one eye was successful then they would have the other eye lasered. I guess it offers some reassurance. I would probably go this route is I were a candidate.

I've been told that it's more difficult for your eyes to compensate with the changes if you do them one at a time. Case in point, my mom had cataract surgery on one eye, although she does need it on both. One was just worse than the other. She was petrified so she chose to do it one at a time (or just one, jury is still out). She has had a really tough time adjusting to the differences. The doctors and everyone who had knowledge of this procedure told her that it would be tough but she was just so scared. Bottom line, I think they do recommend them both be done at the same time for ease of the adjustment.

I am also not a good candidate - at least four years ago I wasn't. I have one eye that is nearsighted, and one that is farsighted. One of my eyes is a "lazy eye" and really isn't fixable (I am so glad it is not stuck looking off into the distance, mine only does that when I am really tired). It is very unfortunate because my good eye is getting progessively worse and worse (it's doing all the work). I actually see clearer with my lazy eye now. I am not sure why I am a bad candidate. Maybe it's the farsighted piece or if they screw up my good eye - I would be almost legally blind? Depressing. I hate wearing glasses all day long.

I am envious of all of you that have had the good fortunre to get it done.
