VistA MUMPS and JAVA developers

    MUMPS? hadnt seen that in a long time! Can you share the location with a bit more specifics? I might have a couple of folks I can reach out to that have MUMPS experience and see if they are interested, but I will need a bit more detail. Feel free to send a PM if necessary.

    Work location will be either Chantilly or Fairfax, near Fair Oaks Mall. So, not far apart.

    Other development opportunities available are JAVA based.

    More MUMPS specifics:

    ASM (www.asmr.com) is seeking a Senior Developer with VistA and MUMPS programming experience. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work in a structured agile environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide programming support for MUMPS database concerns
    • Assist development team in understanding and utilizing RPCs within VistA modules.
    • Troubleshooting performance issues related to executing RPS’s from external Java based applications
    • Proactively seeks opportunities to implement improvements to internal team processes
    • Ensures that all best practices and enterprise standards are followed
    • Develop test scripts and conducts full unit testing of all code produced
    • Follows established source control and configuration management practices and tools for managing source code and technical documentation.
    • Stays current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies related to MUMPS programming.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree (8 years of additional relevant technical experience may be substituted for education)
    • 7+ years of MUMPS experience
    • In depth knowledge of VistA architecture, libraries, and RPC functions.
    • Experience troubleshooting VistA RPCs and contributing to software which uses RPCs
    • Experience working in a fast paced, agile environment
    • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Must be a proven team player
    • United States Citizenship required
    • Applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
