I bought two LCDs from Dell in the last year. They often have good specials. I always check http://techbargains.com/ first.

I have a dell flat panel 17 in...sitting right here next tot the desk. YOu'll need a wall mount or a clamp on desk mount to use it as I never had the stand up base.

    Yours for $100...

I have always used dell and never had a problem. Just got a 30" monitor and some kind of new dell computer with dual processors dual 320g hard drives 4 g of ram and a graphics card with a 1 g of something. Shows how computer literate I am. :) Anyway some of these new monitors run or look best with dvi connections. Some that is the only way to connect without adapters. So it depends what you are going to use it for. I have what I have because of the graphics I do such as rendering and I do some film editing yes I still dream of being movie maker even tho that is far fetched these days. But you never know! ha ha ha These kind of things eats up everything. SO it is important for what you are going to be doing. If you are just doing a little word processing and surfing the web then just about anything will do. Once you get into working with movies, serious graphics etc all the power you can get really makes a difference.
I thought my 2 year old 24" dell monitor was great until I got this 30" with a powerful computer and wow what a difference in speed and the visuals on the screen. I don't know much about this stuff but I have an whole architectural forum full of experts on this stuff when I need help. Believe me you all are tame compared to that rowdy bunch. :) When they get into Iraq and Bush there are explosions on that private forum from all sides. ha ha ha ha

I've been very happy with buying Acer brand flat panels from Tiger Direct. Their wide screen versions are the bomb-diggety. If you want REALLY big - go to best buy and just get a "small" flat screen TV. You could have a 40" wide screen for your gaming!

I bought an Acer 19" widescreen from Best Buy on sale. Just love it, fantastic monitor. Really nice for gaming, 5ms response. Has both digital and normal inputs. No dead pixels.
