Looking to surprise our son with a puppy for his birthday- he really wants a Jack Russell. Having a VERY hard time finding one- none of the rescue have any avail right now, been to all of the major dog search sites (pet finder, 1-800 save apet, etc.) So- does anyone know someone who knows someone with a jack russell that just had puppies?!?

Thanks in advance- and yes- only a puppy will do- we've trained dogs before and like to start fresh! Thanks in advance!

Look at www.petfinder.com - you can plug in your zip code, breed, and preferred age, and it will pull from all the shelters around. Also check the classifieds section there. And finally, try craigslist - lots of people post dogs wanted and dogs being given away. Good luck in your search!

well we found him! Through a very nice breeder in Salisbury MD, the newest member of our family will be arriving Sunday. Thanks to everyone who pm'd me with great suggestions and tips- I look forward to joining other Broadlands pet owners in discussions about giving our four legged babies the best life possible! :)

I'm glad to hear you read about the breed you picked. So many people just pick a puppy/dog for their looks and don't know a thing about the breed, hence the abundance of abandoned dogs!!! We have a border collie, our second one, and as you probably know - they need lots of exercise and walks too. Having a dog like that is wonderful, my husband and I are in the best shape ever. Our current border collie was abandoned, as so many are once people figure out they aren't couch potatoes. We just love her and she's so smart too. I've always loved the Jack Russell Terriers too! Have fun and enjoy!!!!
