there are some very cool events and celebs that will be there- several former Harlem Globetrotters, current Redskins & Wizards... my son and hubby went last year and had an amazing time.

Anybody else going? We are in the market for (ME!) so we are going down on Sunday. I figure it's a lot easier to narrow down things when you don't have to drive to every dealership under the sun...and speaking up here, Our experience with the no pushy no price haggling Don Beyer Volvo dealership has been great, so when we went to Pohanaka to drive the MDX, it gave me the creeps and those guys called us 3 times even though we told them we were only in the looking phase.

Kaosdad says I'm a car salesman's worst nightmare. I know what I want down to the nth detail and ask pointedly about it, like if Volvo can do bi-active xenon lights, why can't everyone else!!!!

Hmm, never had a problem. BJ Alger was my point man. I can chat up the best and so he became my pal.

We were lucky enough to get to go on Tuesday night when it was closed to the public but open for Charity/Congress night. I think it was one of the best auto shows that we have had in DC in a while. I was definitely impressed, and I encourage anyone who can go to make the trip this weekend.

The Charity/Congress night thing is done every year, and getting tickets is pretty easy as long as you are willing to make a good donation. It's for a good cause, like the Parkinson Foundation, etc. A lot of local charities participate, so just ask your favorite to see if they do.

Volvo makes a good car these days. We almost got the C70 last year, but another car, also from Sweden and with bi-xenon active cornering headlams, edged it out.
