Has anyone ever had to combat water bugs? Any recommendations for getting rid of them? I'm in a new house, but noticing tiny bugs near water supply (tub, vanity by sink) which I think are water bugs.

can you be more specific, what do the bugs look like? What is their size, color etc. But, in general most insecticide treatments should work. Since this is around a drain/pipe area then a powder is better. They are usually around the water sources (pipes) because they follow these through the walls and floor as the likely place to go. Also, I have been told by other "experts" that it is more common to notice this kind of thing around new construction - because of all the disturbance in the ground etc.

If you treat around the foundation, and spot treat inside - that should be a decent approach in general.

Thanks for the input. For more specifics, they are about 1 1/2 - 2 mm. long, with a thin, oval shaped body and black coloring with 2 defined antennae. When I go to remove it with a tissue, they seem to be able to "jump/move" away quickly, but am able to get it nonetheless. They are tiny but annoying! I will look into powders at Home Depot.
