    Just wondering...

Is Waxpool Road going to be widened from the stop sign at Ashburn Road to the traffic light where Waxpool turns and Farmwell Road begins?

It seems that the construction is stopping right after the entrance to the townhomes.

In addition, it looks like Faulkner Parkway is going to meet up with Waxpool????

And...what about the four way stops at Shellhorn, Ryan and Waxpool and the other at Waxpool and Ashburn Village Blvd. Are they going to traffic lights someday?

    Thank you!

Waxpool is supposed to be widened from Ashburn Road to Ashburn Village Blvd. Don't know when. If you are traveling westbound on Waxpool from Ashburn Village Blvd, Waxpool will bend to the right and become Faulkner Parkway which will cross Ashburn Rd. and hook up to Broadlands Blvd.
The intersection of Waxpool/Shellhorn/Ryan will change. The small piece of Shellhorn between Ashburn Rd. and Waxpool Rd. will become a cul-de-sac. This should result in Waxpool being a through street with no stop sign, since the only connecting road is that little piece of old Ryan Rd. that serves the Alexan townhomes.

    Cliff,
When is the dirt road between Broadlands Blvd and Waxpool going to be closed and the new road opened (about 1/2 up the dirt road with the orange and white barrier)?
They have spent a small fortune over the last 2 years on gravel and grading.

The last time I heard anything about it was last year, and it was supposed to be done by the end of this year, but I don't know if that is still accurate. I doubt it. The hold up had to do with building a new bridge to cross the stream.

Who do we contact for an updated answer, VDOT or the county?

Frankly, I don't believe that road will be done until someone buys the properties on the other side of Shellhorn.

Normally, the roads are done by the developer as part of the proffers, I don't see that happening here. Nor do I see anything coming out of the county with the way some on the BoS are adverse to doing anything about bringing in revenues to pay for services that this expanding county needs.
