So we went to Sonoma last year and it was wonderful- we stayed at the Inn at Sonoma- which we loved. Great place for couples or small groups- quaint, friendly and well located.

I'm wondering about other places that that people have stayed that are also charming, comfortable and hospitable! i would imagine there are MANY lovely places to stay in sonoma, so...

    who's been?
    where'd you stay?
    what'd ya think?

We stayed at the The Old World Inn. It was very charming and wonderful service, highly recommend it. Here is their website:

FWIW, we did the "wine train", but felt the $400 for 3 hours was a complete waste of $ and time.

thanks pea- it's cute but we don't want to stay in Napa- we like the heart of Sonoma.

yeah, no interest in the wine train. we found a fantastic tour guide thru platypus tours: http://www.platypustours.com/

our guide looked like Willam Dafoe and knew EVERYONE. got us private tastings and tours with the owners, took us to some amazing vineyards! we will definitely do that again and hit a whole new set of tastings and maybe visit an old fave or two...
