Wow. What a weird results show. The bottom 3 was not who I would have picked at all. And of those 3, maybe Paris should have gone but not Mandisa!

Btw, I loved the digs that Ryan & Simon threw at each other during the performance show (Simon's love life is safe & boring and Ryan should stop trying to be on Desperate Housewives).

Also, has Kenny Rogers had one too many cosmetic surgeries??

I was shocked to see Mandisa go. I was not expecting that at all. When they listed the 3 groups I figured that it would have been the group with Eliott. I thought for sure he was gone. Talk about a crazy silence after they announced that Mandisa was gone. I think people were expecting a 'just kidding' from Ryan that never came lol.

It was great seeing those two clash. It definitally seems to get better each week. Sadly their clashing was more memorable then any of the performances. The last few weeks have been BORING.

All of that 'clashing' is scripted drivel...i fast forward though all of it.

Kenny does look like he got his face pulled a little tight.

Next week they perform songs by Queen. That should make 3 straight terrible weeks. :lame:

the only good thing about Mandisa being gone is that she will be able to begin her amazing career now. I wasn't crazy about her performance, but she is still superior to Bucky, Kelly (who I love), Ace, Paris- dang near all of them! But I understand country music fans not liking anything those bottom 3 did.

She didn't need to WIN AI to be a star- neither will Chris or Katherine or Paris (in a few years) or Taylor (in the adult contemporary world) if they lose. This exposure is enough.

Without winning AI- Bucky will go back to his honky tonks back home and be a big fish for 3-4 months, then back to repairing transmissions he will go... Ace will do the Walt Disney circuit and front a boy band like 98 Degrees before marrying a middle aged B list actress (see page 7 of the Ashton Kutcher Guide to Life.) Elliott sadly has no star power, just a beautiful voice. he'll fade quietly away and enjoy local celebrity in his home town. Pickler will do well in Nashville and have great cameos on Reba. If they ever bring back Hee Haw or Laugh in, she's a SHOE IN!

As for Simon and Seacrest, while I believe they really don't like each other- I think it's a mistake for the show to work at showing it- it's so much better when the zingers naturally occur...

Actually, Simon and Ryan are good friends. At least that is what I heard/saw somewhere.

Although it might be interesting if Chris does "Fat Bottom Girls." I'm just pre-cringing on having to watch/listen to Ace botch "Who Wants to Live Forever."

If the contestants are smart they'll stay away from "Champions" and "Bites the Dust." If anything good can come of the contemporary show (songs from 2000-now), these guys need to stay away from known songs until they get a better handle on things.

As for the voting, it is very remeniscent of Season 1. Some vote for talent, some vote for looks.

I think whatever they perform on TV (AI show), its all drama, written by someone, they are just actors....just to make the show more interesting

but judging part is not like that though..

Actually, I figured Ace would sing 'We Are The Champions'. :)

And the obvious 'Fat Bottomed Girls' joke just got voted off, so no ironic song choices next week.

I figure Chris will end up singing 'Another One Bites The Dust' or 'I Want It All'...probably the latter. Taylor could possibly sing 'A Crazy Little Thing Called Love'...

As far as voting goes, check out www.dialidol.com. They use a dialer program to both cast votes and analyze the busy signals for each contestant, thus predicting the bottom three...which they correctly predicted this week.

Wow... I figured people were doing vote manipulation, but this is really scary. And people aren't concerned about Diebold....

I would love to hear someone do Radio GaGa, but I guess they will keep things to the more sane choices.

Elliot or Bucky could do a pretty good Freddie Mercury impression with the teeth that they have. Scary.

Although my guess is that Ace is the most like Freddie outside of the show.

I at least hope one of the contestants takes the oportunity to really shine with this. Freddie was such an expressive singer and performer. It would be really boring to just see them stand there and sing one of the songs or even bop around. I think this will be the end of Eliott. He can't pull off that type of charisma at all.

Let's pray none of the boys choose a tight polyester/rayon zip-suit as an outfit this week to complete the look.

Here's what they're singing tonite: (from USA Today)

Ace Young, We Will Rock You: "I urbanized the verses a little, just by riding on (the notes). I put a little R&B soul on it. When we were done, they said, 'That sounds like a record.' "

•Bucky Covington, Fat Bottomed Girls: "Yes, we all love the fat-bottomed girls."

•Chris Daughtry, Innuendo: "It's a relatively unknown song. It just had a mixture of a dark feel and a positive message. And I just found out they've never performed this live."

•Elliott Yamin, Somebody to Love: "I was drawn to the passionate emotion of the song. I heard a lot of soul in it."

•Katharine McPhee, Who Wants to Live Forever: "How could (this) not be fun? We're working with so many different legends."

•Kellie Pickler, Bohemian Rhapsody: "We only have 1 minute and 30 seconds, and the song is really long. Having to cut so many pieces is really hard to memorize, because I'm not singing the song as it's originally played."

•Paris Bennett, The Show Must Go On: "Being with the band was a big experience to me, never being with a rock band before. I was able to pick a song that fits me, that's still rocky."

•Taylor Hicks, Crazy Little Thing Called Love: "You listen to a Queen song, it's really melodic and very powerful, and the dynamics (are) really cool."

Well, looks like this is Bucky's last week.

And I told you so on Taylor's song choice...even tho that crooner idiot butchered the same song earlier in the series.

I don't know. There is no way Kellie can pull off that song. LOL. Suzie did it on Rockstar: INXS and did an amazing job on it but Kellie? That one will be so funny to see. The only one I really see doing a good job tonight is Taylor.

am I the only one who thinks I hear better performances at random bars with weekend-band people?

I mean.. maybe they don't have the 'range' of song styles people on the show are subjected to.. but who cares? I don't put Sting on to hear a country song, or Motorhead to hear a pop single.
