My family and I went to see Harry Potter last weekend @ the Fox Brambleton theatre. I will never go to Regal theater again. Needless to say I was very impressed. Signs directing us to theatre parking from southbound Belmont Ridge were a real help. I didnt mind walking out onto sidewalk from parking lot since it adds to urban setting. Architecture of future store/restaurants and Theatre were well done. Lots of room in front near fountain to meet up with friends.

Theater lobby is wide open and well executed. I liked having ticketing off to one side unlike Regal. Large consession stand staffed by very attentive and articulate staff. Yes, that DOES make a difference when you drop $50 for a matinee for a family of four. Hallways to auditoriums were a bit narrow especially since arcade games and bathroom entrances add congestion. Arcade games could have been located out near little used cafe tables in lobby.

Stadium seating auditorium was large and well designed. Big wide screen with isles up either side. Leather seats were comfortable but got a bit clammy by end of show. I didn't notice any "Loveseats" like @ Regal. I didnt note if armrest can be raised. Great surround sound system. I saw Pirates at Herndon Phoenix and only the front 2 speakers were working. Manager said that Phoenix doesnt advertise that they have Surround sound but gave me free pass when I complained of poor sound.

We watch alot of movies with the Blockbuster DVD by mail. I've built a home theatre complete with a riser and 2 rows of leather recliners with bass kickers, and 5.1 surround sound. Even with my big screen its not as immersive as the huge screens at Fox. I agree with many that going to movies has gotten very expensive. Consequently we dont go often, perhaps 5-7 times a year as a family. The new, close to home, Brambleton theatre with its great staff, clean comfortable auditoriums, and urban setting makes going out to the movies a pleasurable and worthwhile experience.

We haven't been going Regal for at least a couple of years - went downhill rather quickly. Have preferred Tysons, love the theatre there.

Went to Fox Brambleton last weekend and really enjoyed it. Great to have a nice neighborhood so close.
