Since we don't physically own the server (we use a hosting facility), and since everything was in place before I joined the Technology Committee about 3 years ago, we're stuck with a Windows based server...

There are plans though to transition to our own server at some point in the near future. When that happens, rest assured we will be running Linux...

Also, having our own server running Linux will enable us to provide a wider range of services on our website, including the possibility of email accounts, an online 'Town Center', etc... The Tech Committee has been planning this for a while; it's just a matter of money at this point. We don't want to just jump into something without thinking it out completely. It's the smart thing to do, considering the money would come from our monthly dues...

So, laugh now; I'll get Linux in here very soon and we can finally say goodbye to this lousy Windows box
