We all need to remember to pay attention to our dogs when they are barking or yelping outside. Remember that not everyone wants to hear your dog. If you know that your dog barks or yelps when it's outside, you should be outside with it. For example, there is a small dog here in Broadlands that looks through the fence and constantly yelps at anyone walking by. It also can be heard when it's outside and we're inside with windows shut. Please remember that most of us love dogs but do not want to be annoyed with the barking.
This thread is not meant to be mean, I just want to make dog owner's more aware of their neighbors. Thanks.
    :)

I agree 100%. My neighbors let their little dogs (2) run around the backyard at about 10:00 PM and they bark for about an hour non-stop. While I feel every dog needs playtime like that .... can we not do it at 5? :)

Pregnant lady needs her sleep! haha.

yeah, we've unfortunately know too much about having neighbors with barking dogs. they are oblivious to it, which is a shame. the dog stays outside all day, barking constantly - whether it's 15 or 100 degrees.

Now, we've gotten a call from a neighbor when our dog was barking. It was embarassing as heck, but we tried harder to stay on top of it and had no hard feelings about it at all. In my opinion, this is a case where you should be able to talk to the neighbor - perhaps they don't hear it or don't notice it.

I'd like the lady and gentleman who often walk their two little yappy dogs around the neighborhood between 4:30-5am - with the dogs yapping the ENTIRE WAY - to please find a way to hush the dogs.

OH MY!!! What an hour to be walking two yappy dogs!!! I sympathize with you and that's very inconsiderate of those people. Don't know what the solution would be however, other than putting a muzzle on them.

sometimes ppl don't even notice it anymore if they hear it all the time- i'd like to hope the owners would be recitent if it's brought to their attention how loud their dogs are. or maybe they are walking with a really loud ipod on their ears!

unlike those ppl who YELL into cell phones while in public places like restaurants, totally disturbing everyone around them who could care less about Aunt Sally's canker sores... i will never understand those folks.

    sorry- i digress.

Out of curiousity, are you in the Overland Park area?? If you are and you live right behind me..I'm sorry.. We try to keep track of our dog with the barking as much as we can. I have 2 small kids (2 1/2 yrs. and 3 months) and I can't be outside with him, that is why we have a fence to let him go potty, but we try to get him inside as quickly as we can... During the afternoons I let him stay outside figuring that majority of people are at work and the barking wouldn't be that much of a bother. But like in the mornings and evenings I can understand the frustration. I will let my husband know to keep an ear out as well. My dog is annoying, he barks/yelps if you will even at the slightest noise even being inside.. He is a mix chihuaha so he has that high pitch bark... Having 2 yng. kids and a 3 story house, I can't get to him as quickly, as you might like...but I will try.

Sorry to all my neighbors, but he is a dog and dogs do bark...and like I mentioned above. We try our best to keep this dog under control...

It would be Super Duper for the dog owner in the townhomes off Village (near the Southern Walk Pool) would be considerate enough to bring in their barking dog.

It was barking from 10:30 to 1:45AM last night.

You know - dogs don't even need to be outside to be annoying. Now that it's getting cooler....people have their windows open and their dogs will sit by the window and bark at everything. :)

That's what my dog does also but we don't even have the window's open.. He howls at anything and/or anyone that walks by, makes a noise or just see you out the window and you can hear him just from being outside..

That is a fair point and I agree with you.

I actually drove (yes in my nightgown and fuzzy slippers) over to the source of barking and saw the dog on the deck...this was about 2AM and pounded on the door. At which point the man told me he had passed out and forgot about his dog on the deck.:screwy:

I can't imagine living in that row of townhouses with a non-stop barking for over 3 hours.

Believe it!..there is a yapper in my neighborhood that goes out on the deck at all hours and barks it's head off! Can't imagine that the owners don't hear it; their bedroom windows are always open!
