I AGREE! My snoring man beast turned out to have severe sleep apnea. Now he's got an iron lung to help him breath at night, but that makes noise too so I still wear the ear plugs.

The barking dogs through open windows got me thinking.... I should be more mindful of my daughter (~3years old) yelling out the window. She loves to say (scream) HELLO! to everyone outside.

Not sure what type of machine he has, but mine is pretty quiet.
Apnea can be very serious. One of our neighbors, 41 years old, died from it.

Yeah, he stops breathing 47 times an hour and his O2 levels drop to 84% (normal is 95%-100%). Doctors are surprised that he doesn't fall asleep at work or behind the wheel of the car.

He's got a fairly new machine but any noise (big or little) bothers me. And he hasn't used the iron lung for a few months now. You are so right that this is a very serious problem (he had a high school friend die from apnea a few years ago, he died on his 30th birthday). I wish he'd use it again, he just has a difficult time getting comfortable wearing it (no matter what bells and whistles I get for the unit)... he's had this machine since 2002, get used to it already!

Sorry for getting off topic :)
