Here is what I said Cliff then you start playing games. Sorry Cliff when you say main entrance it means to most people the main door. If you said the main entrance to Safeway you would not use the driveway entrance or parking lot entrance. The main entrance to a school always means the main front door and on and on and on.

    Lee-
I AM CLOSER TO THE HOSPITAL THAN THE SCHOOL ADMIN BUILDING!!!!!
YOU HAVE TO DRIVE PAST THE HOSPITAL PROPERTY TO GET TO THE SCHOOL ADMIN BUILDING FROM MY HOUSE!!!!!

So come on, I'll play by your terms. It IS NOT 1.1 miles fro my house to the front entrance, canopy, whatever you want to call it.
Put up or shut up, baby.

Well we will see who is laughing when your hospital destroys your neighbors property values you do not care about across the street from the hospital during your 8 year obsession

I just to make sure my position is our there so when we look at how bad this was to change land use for the worse we can look back upon this for a lesson on what not to do in the future.

Lee, take Cliff's bet and instead of doing it for $1000, if you lose, you promise to no longer post here on our forums. Deal?

HA! Your statement is so open ended that home values could go up for years and then they'll go down during one quarter and you'll run out and start saying "SEE! I told you home prices would go down because of the hospital!" That's how you operate...

Honestly, if you're so concerned about all the folks with homes around the proposed hospital, why don't you do something about it instead of wasting your time here? I don't see you talking to any members of the BoS during their meetings. I don't see you volunteering your time with the Inova group trying to fight to keep BRMC out of Broadlands. I don't see you speaking to State Officials.

No, all I see is some bitter guy who is bored beyond belief all day and spends his time posting rantings on a variety of blogs/forums. I see a guy who continuously posts the same thing. I see a guy who thinks he is the only one who actually knows anything. I see a guy who doesn't care about facts. I see a guy who claims he is being 'persecuted', when in fact, he's the one making baseless accusations about some Broadlands residents. I see a guy who doesn't even live in Broadlands, yet believes that he needs to be the voice against BRMC.

Sorry Lee, but your postings over the past few months have totally destroyed your credibility. It's also my belief that you are doing more bad than good to the folks opposing BRMC. Your rantings and factless statements make the folks who oppose BRMC look bad. I think you're doing them a deservice with your actions here. You want to help them? Then truly get involved. Don't just post on forums and blogs, but do something real. Why didn't you go speak against the hospital at the BoS meeting you kept talking about? Less rhetoric, more action.

    (1) Please provide any kind of facts or evidence that the hospital will "destroy" property values. ANY. Just a little. Please.
    (2) I am glad that you know that Cliff "doesn't care" about other people. We know that you care more than any of us. Thank you.
    (3) Who's obsessed?!

Based on the amount of posts you have in several forums and blogs related to BRMC, you should never accuse anyone of obsessing.

I think Lee should take the bet and regardless of who wins, the $1000 should be used to start the fund for all those that will apparently see their property values dip sometime after the hospital is built.

The main entrance of your home is the front door, the main entrance of a department store is the doors the main entrance to the mall are the doors that distinguish it as such. the main entrance of a park then it is a road. You don't use road when when you are talking about a building. Now if you are talking about a complex of buildings another words many buildings then you might use the road and even then it gets tricky. The main entrance to a subdivision is a road with some kind of markings or entrance feature that will distinguish it as such. A good example would be a hotel since both a hotel and hospitals are usually talked about beds or in a hotel rooms mean a similar thing. So the main entrance to a hotel just like the main entrance to a hospital is usually distinguished by some major and obvious place to stop and drop off most of the time with a canopy and are very obvious it is the main entrance both have main lobbies with a check desk or some kind of obvious check in center of some sort. So the main entrance is the main front door area.

I am through with this thread until I see what the hospital sends in for review.:)

I'll give you $1,000 to be through just to spare my eyes and head from reading an entire paragraph about the correct meaning of an entrance.

So you are telling me that my OPINION of what a main entrance is, is wrong?

Lee is a professional pretty picture drawer so he knows more than you about definitions of entrances and other highly technical construction stuff, didn't you know that already?!

If the difference in distance from the "main entrance" to the hospital campus and the "main door" to the hospital is that significant - the building must be set back pretty far from the neighboring houses :) Thanks for the insight Lee!

Don't get so excited if that was all it was going to be. They have future plans for parking garage and medical buildings that will be much closer to the road. The same tactic that many developers do. They start from the back and leave big groves of trees and eveyone thinks oh look how nice this looks. Then bam there goes the parking lot and up go garages and buildings and all of a sudden you have a ton of buildings. then every one says but we still have tis nice big grove of trees in this one spot along the road and then bam again they get another exemption and a 100' building goes up right on the road right across the homes. ANd then it is all over the property values plummet and the helipad is now back in and they got what they wanted anyway and the people across the street are screwed because that is not exactly what they were sold in the initial approval. No Hospital will ever be stopped from growing once they have their claws into the site. That is why an office project is far better because you know it will never never have a chance to go beyond the original approval. If the hospital is approved on an exemption it is pretty obvious they will keep getting them after the first one.

Then homes across the toll road are really close to the actual first building. and potential helipad.

Now clever Cliff will divert the attention to the pretty little park, but he never mentions the very large reserve tract for future development right on broadlands blvd right across the homes I wonder why???? hmmm. I have seen the plans and will have a copy once they go in for review and perhaps I can get a copy today from the county to study further.

It is not just the original development it is all the future expansion and if you start a development with a exemption you have torn down the down for all the other future exemptions. It is like opening Pandora's box. If this development was going to be better for the adjoining neighbors i say rezone it as fast as possible, but hospitals bring unique problems to an especially a residential neighborhood.

Perhaps this is my final word until the plans are submitted for review ???? :devil2:
