Ten more Madoff associates are under investigation...no names revealed yet. Part of Madoff's problem is he refused to name names. Who are these people - Wallstreet insiders, SEC, Bankers, etc?

And Mrs. Madoff denies she's been offered a tell all book deal. Well, I say, let her write the book along with the promise that all proceeds are returned to the victims of her husband's ponzi scheme!

The person who spent the most time in a US prison is......

Paul Geidel. In 1911, he was convicted of Second Degree Murder and sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. He was released from prison 7 May 1980 after serving 68 Years 245 days. He was 86 years old.

Geidel served his sentence at Sing Sing and at Fishkill.

What is interesting is that he was offered parole in 1974 when he was 80 years old. He refused. At that time he had served 63 years in prison and did not think he could survive on the "outside".

Geidel died in 1987.

 

This is a little bit off-topic, BUT - has anyone read the book "The Devil in the White City" by Erik Larson?

Nonfiction - it's a riveting account of the planning and staging of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, where a serial killer by the name of H.H. Holmes built a hotel/torture chamber and preyed upon young women. Supposedly, it's being made into a movie, to be released this year. Read the book before you see the movie - I'm sure the book will be better.

What a terrible thing. I sure hope there will be a full investigation and the guilty parties punished..... after he is beat up a few times.
