I don't have too, variable radar detector. ;)
Two of my neighbors received tickets for 4 and 6 over...Ridiculous!

Well, that depends. Went to traffic court in April to lower my fine and hopefully lower points. No go.

VA courts cannot lower points. Points are the sole discretion of VA DMV.

If you don't have a valid excuse the judge will call your BS. If you say you are sorry then he/she might lower it. (Which is what I did.) You also cannot use the "when was the last time the radar was calibrated" because they ask all the cops in the beginning.

Issue is that they raised the court fees. So even though my fine was reduced, I still had to pay court fees so I ended up saving $5.

I was in Fairfax County, so maybe Loudoun is different? They were also not taking BS from anyone and those that did - let's say it wasn't pretty.

    I agree.

I tend to creep a few miles over the speed limit on some of our feeder roads also, but Shellhorn and Waxpool (by Verizon) are 2 roads that I keep a constant vigil on the speedometer.

Hmmmmm....I've been driving for 26 years and have never once gotten a speeding ticket. If you obey the speed limit, you won't get busted, no matter how rediculous you feel it is.

Pea you are the most honest person here when it comes to admitting that you made a mistake. I really commend you for that honesty :)

I agree. You have to wonder where common sense has gone. We are only human and far from perfect and not everyone has cruise control to keep it at the exact speed or even knows how to use it.
10 over yes but 4 to 6 :screwy:.

I was please to see a Sheriff running laser on Rideway during yesterdays rush (to save perhaps 30 seconds) hour. Although he was hiding behind bushes, his car was parked in the opposite direction. Kinda big clue to potential speeders to slow down. He would have caught more had he parked around corner on Inglewood.

Watch out on Broadlands Blvd at night. They park on on the dead end outlets before Clydes. Though they are not looking for speeding, they are watching the NIGHT crowd leaving Clyde's, which is a GOOD :) thing, looking for Drunk Driver's. But coming down the hill for Glebe View can get your speed up.

That area is also known for racing -- there are many post here talking about motorcycle and cars going up and down that section of road.
