Is this the same guy who charges 15 bux a person to ride his shuttle from the Metro to FedEx feild(even though it is the only way to get there from the metro) and who increased parking rates more than any other owner in the NFL?

Or it could be that they make HORRIBLE personnel decisions! And perhaps Gibbs just doesn't have it anymore.

In a couple days this thread has really gone astray.

I figured I would come back for more abuse from Mr. 99. [IMG]

I wish I could find that heineken commercial that was on a lot during the world cup. Just shows 2 guys sitting at a bar. The guy on the right is very reserved talking to the guy on the left just chatting. Under him it says "Footbal". Then the guy on the left starts talking but is out of his bar stool arms and hands flailing, you can tell he is really into what he is talking about. Under him it says "Futbol".

Thats the perfect commercial that shows that it is about passion, not sansiteevity.

Ok -- here's some soccer talk. What do you think about Freddy Adu heading to Portugal ? He looked very good in the Under-20 World Cup.

He couldnt handle playing with the pace in the MLS, so I dont see how he is going to be able to handle playing in an overseas division where players are faster on the ball and tougher on their tackles. He should have stayed here until he could at least keep up with the other MLS players.

    My $0.02...

MLS (and the US MNT) make up for lack of skill/creativity with athleticism and sometimes brute force. Adu is a finesse player. With those two things in mind, he was never going to shine in MLS but he has been able to shine at some of the lower national competitions. He also would have a hard time in the EPL, Bundesliga, and Serie A given they are all more on the physical side than finesse side. But La Liga and Portuguese Superliga by proxy are more technical than physical. I think that suits Freddy's game and I hope he is successful. If he is it will only benefit the US in the long run.

He does have agility to play in any league. He does have speed to play in any league. What he doesnt have is the ability to put them together. That will be his downfall.

He is also only 18 years old~ the same age as most kids entering college. He could get better in the next couple years. I don't think he'll ever be the world beater he was hyped to be, but he could still get bigger, faster and stronger.
