First, I don't miss. Second, it is for that reason that I use a shotgun for defense outside of my house. However, the majority of innocent people killed or wounded by errant gunfire are not shot by homeowners defending themselves, but by criminals who don't care whether they hit their intended targets or not.

See all you need is a good 12 gauge. Pop some bird shot in for the first round and buck shot in for the second round. The bird shot will warn them but not kill them. if they still come then the buck shot will kill them. And the best part. Even the wife can handle a 12 gauge :)

I agree that it shouldn't even be an issue.. but there are lots of stupid people out there who don't know how to close their legs, etc, and would end up being bad parents if they were made to have the child, do you not agree? Sure, there is adoption and other options, but the demand is not high enough I'm sure.

Well, keep in mind that these were police officers I was referring to are now retired... I don't know many current officers, and my statement was based on the previous generation of officers. Even still, racism is inexcusable. I never discounted the value of police officers... My grandfather and uncle were in the force.

I don't really see the need for handguns... they aren't used for sport, unless you call the majority of murders and drive-bys sport... I agree that guns were needed to keep the government in check, but are they really neccessary nowadays? Guns != freedom, IMO, if that's what you're trying to say....

How about bird shot followed by a slug. :) You'd have to be a good shot, tho.

That's why buck shot is good for home defence. It's fire in general direction. Slug requires aim :)

EVERYBODY misses at one point, especially under "live" circumstances. I too rarely miss when firing at the range whether it be a 9mm, 12 guage, M16, or AK-47. Let somelse shoot back and it is funny what happens to one's aim.
