Wondering what folks opinion is of this shopping center.
I found it to be claustrophic, confusing, with minimal parking.
The rather small parking lot behind the buildings was a hazard because it seemed that there was either a brick trash enclosure, trees, or large utility boxes on every corner in the parking lot. This made the already tight parking worse because of all the blind corners.
    Pretty buildings, poor design.

I agree. When I went I thought it would be great if I lived there and didn't have to drive and park. Hate to see what it's like on a busy weekend!

Other than NYAJ's, I didn't really see anything there worth going for.

As a designer it is a poor design trying to go back to main street where you park at a slant. It was ugly back then and still is. Parking was a problem back then and here it is even worse. Actual design of the buildings is barely fair. It is another strip center on steroids.

The center I have hope for is the brambleton center but we will see. We have very little real good architecture in this area and that is a shame especially in our commercial buildings. A bigger shame because they are designed from scratch so everything should be great. :)

    Lee,

isn't the guy who did the Lansdowne developement, the same guy who heads Greenleaf (or is it Greentree)?

I seem to recall that this is the guy who also built the Claiborne Pkwy interchange at Rt7 as part of the proffers for Lansdowne.

Wait a sec ... then who put the political candidate's sign on the bridge when it was under construction, saying its my bridge until its turned over, and I can display anything I want on it back in 2005 ??

Or was that an entirely different bridge ??

Actually, hate to break it to you Cliff and Lee, but Neil is right this time.

Hobie did the Claiborne Pkwy interchange as part of the Lansdowne proffers. And yes, he did put up a Kilgore sign in 2005 while it was under construction - basically dared VDOT to make him take it down.

Belmont CC is on the hook for 1/2 the Belmont Ridge Rd interchange or ~$7 million, whichever is less, but only when they begin building offices in that area (not the current office building).
