    vacliff,
You're right Brambleton is supposed to get a 16-screen, 3000 seat cineplex. Our town center is split into two sections: daily needs and lifestyle. The Harris Teeter is in the daily needs section and is well underway in construction. It's supposed to open this fall. The movie theater is in the lifestyle section, which is slated to open in mid- to late 2006. I'm not sure if the theater will open at that time as well. We've not been given much information. Confirmed tenants right now are Harris Teeter, Consolidated Theaters, Subway, and Chevy Chase Bank. There have been rumors about Little Gym, Rio Grande, PF Changs, and possibly Barnes and Noble--but those are just rumors.

oh please oh please... I'm on my knees now praying for a PF Changs. Coming from Scottsdale (and then Boston where I didn't go as often as I'd have liked) I DO miss Mr. Fleming's food!

I think I saw a Rio Grande at the Fairfax Corner too. They had a bunch of new restaurants and shops over there.

So...we went to Samuri Sushi this Friday. We're not traitors to Sam or anything but I didn't want to wait 140 to 150 minutes at Bonefish (guess that's supposed to make it sound better than 2 1/2 hours :)) and they were REALLY good! My husband didn't find their beef teryaki to be that great but their salad/soup & sushi options were pretty impressive to me. Just an FYI..and it was busier than I ever saw Matsuba..of course we didn't normally go on a Friday night either.

I guess it doesn't take as long if you serve the fish without cooking it ;)

There is a link in this thread:

    http://hoa.broadlands.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1474

that has a PDF of the Brambleton Village Center. It will be at the intersection of Ryan and a relocated Belmont Ridge Road (moved to the other side of the new high school, I think).

The leasing agent, Madison Retail Group, has updated the site plan for the Brambleton Town Center (what it's called now). It looks like there will be a Cold Stone Creamery, a place called Rigatoni Grill, Subway, a dry cleaners, and a UPS store in addition to the Harris Teeter, Chevy Chase Bank and the movie theaters. We've not been given much more info on the town center.

I drove by yesterday and the Harris Teeter is moving along quickly (it is mostly bricked) and they have cleared out a ton of land for the town center.

Here's a link to the leasing agent's site. The site plan (PDF version) lists what is going in the first phase.

    Edited to add URL.

If you've ever been to the Westview Promenade in Frederick, MD, this is the same group that is doing the Brambleton "Town Center". I've always thought the Westview Promenade was very well laid out and has a nice atmosphere. I anticipate a similar feel to Brambleton. WOOHOO!! :D

    DcD

Then again- maybe Madison is only the leasing agent and has nothing to do with the architectural design. Oh well....
