I know, I have a friend who lived on that road, I always giggled like an 8 year old when I read the street sign.

There's an intersection in Washington state of two roads: Woodcock and Kitchen ****. No joke. And we were just immature enough to laugh every time we went by.

Maybe this link will work. It is near the town of Sequim.

OK gang what is really going on here in my mind is, this is a terrible and blatant disregard of a developer wanting not to be a good neighbor to the neighborhood. From some of the background I can gather the landscaping on the waxpool side of the development is almost non existent and the developer is not very interested in putting much there anyway because of I am guessing they want visibility for the businesses.

Second they have done nothing to stop the clouds of dirt they have rained into the Regency waxpool and ashburn village drive even though this was reported to the county weeks ago. Nice thing there is video being taken regularly to make a record of this.

My goal here is to get major landscaping on the waxpool side of the development like the developer is going to do with berms on the adjoining property.

This rape of a beautiful piece of land with no regard to their neighbors is happening way too much lately in the county and must be stopped.

This is not a isolated problem as we will see more of this all over the county if something is not done.

I picked this project to start with because it is close to me, but I am making a video record of the county mostly of the eastern part so this kind of horrible situation can be prevented in the future. At the very least landscaping can hide many sins.

My lawyer brother loves video in court and the public loves it too if the national and local news is any kind of barometer.

I went to a concert last night a wolftrap.

Dalyn and I were saying how nice fairfax part of the toll rd looked in spite of some large commercial projects well screened and mostly nice buildings. You enter Loudoun right past the toll booth and the gateway to our county is a bunch of unscreened warehouses including a big pile of broken concrete highly visible from the toll rd at the concrete company site. The airport parking lot is another eyesore. Personally I don't mind looking at a well designed building with decent landscaping, but in Loudoun lately the barely landscaped flex building is taking over and visually destroying the county.

As you go further into loudoun we get the three barely landscaped boxes from the toll road then home depot and two other barely landscaped office buildings that are also closer to the toll rd then anything along the toll rd in fairfax. Then the corner of the safeway center all of a sudden screams at you. So far not one decent project along the greenway has been built with sufficient landscaping. I could see some of these buildings exposed if they had some design value like the Dulles airports main terminal. What do they do at the dulles airport build two huge parking garages with no thought to design or some kind of decent landscaping such as planter boxes on the different levels to soften them.

I am still mad at my buddy on the airport board for approving the designs and building them when I was living in california. :D Anyway we must stomp out the visual pollution of Loudoun and the twigs that are planted to screen it.

Well back to my first attempt to hopefully convince a developer to add a lot more landscaping to a poorly designed land plan When you drive down waxpool look at how close those building pads are to waxpool. Could be your neighborhood next. Hopefully I can be more successful then my HOA in this. I will not stop until I and us can stomp out all visual pollution in Loudoun. I do blame myself for not getting involved sooner and our county supervisors and planning commission for a lack of vision for allowing this to happen.

This kind of visual pollution of Loudoun and the traffic problems will raise from the grass roots opposition to everything from people that would not mind growth if they had minimal traffic problems and did not have to look at crap while steaming in traffic. Fairfax has done a better job with growth along their part of the toll rd then Loudoun has shown so far.

I can't resist joining in on the fun.
An engineer we used had an office in Rockville located on "Morningwood Drive". No joke. You know some planner was chuckling to himself when that got through.

I find it personally offensive that the Board of Supervisors would waste time and money debating something this silly. They could have spent the evening finding a way to get the school budget in check, and reduce our tax bills.

As a huge Stephen King fan, I thought it was great when the "Redrum" sign was erected. I just assumed the developer was also a King fan. I'm amazed it's taken this long to get any publicity.

Hmmm.... I assummed the developer was a "Richard" Tracy fan. Redrum and his gang were characters in those comics in the mid 1930s.
    --- John B.
P.S. I had to use "Richard" instead of the detective's real name because the porn filter rejected his name. However I think we all know it. Four letters, begins with a "D" and rhymes with "pick". Now where did I leave my 2-way wrist communicator?

Whilst noticing all those things about the RedRum sign, did you also note that the "U" is a horse shoe? In the style of the good ol' Baltimore Colts. Hrm... Colt's colors too!
