Back to the question of input from residents - Cliff, maybe you have a suggestion here...

I noticed now that Phase II is almost complete, that they're finishing up the "corner" where the fountain and outside seating for the restaurants will be. I believe it also has some lighting in now, and some columns for perhaps a "lanai" type area.

What's missing, yet appears in the plans on the Saul website, is a walkway or sidewalk up from the street intersection to that corner area. We're a community that boasts our nature trails, encourages walks around the community, and has a lot of residents that take advantage of those perqs.

Certainly, residents walking to that northeast corner are not going to walk another 3 blocks east to enter the shopping center through the Safeway Gas station. They're going to cut up the embankment to that corner fountain area. Saul's put it in the plans, but it looks as though the area has been seeded for grass - no sign of the sidewalk construction.

With no paved walkway there, I see a nice little dirt path - complete with dead grass in most months and mud during the wet months.

Before the developer puts a "wrap" on Phase II - can we petition them, nag them, or coerce them to install the sidewalk from the NE corner of BBlvd and CPkwy to the Phase II shops?

(And yes, I've emailed Saul Centers concerning this.)

[PS - Robeks looks pretty great!]

FWIW .. there's a meeting of the BOD today, and we can bring that up as something to contact Saul about.
