I am wondering why so many women in this thread are anxious to let it slide. It is clearly not a great ad, and may send a message (subconsciously or not) to a potential employer.
Why not make it clear that it is unacceptable to imply that women are not as technically advanced? (like a caveman is not advanced).

I'm not upset because it isnt worth the time, or the energy.

It is just .. a .. stupid.. ad.

Why not make it clear that it is unacceptable to imply that women are not as technically advanced? (like a caveman is not advanced).

And now you are going to get all the cave men riled up. Way to go!

There are numerous commercials that imply men are stupid, childish dolts. I think they are funny. Do I think all men are that way, or even most, no.

Look at the those sitcoms, "Everybody Loves Raymond" is one that comes to mind where Raymond was portrayed as an "idiot" by his wife all the time. It's funny....do I think all men are idiots? Of course not, but you have to have a sense of humor and not take things so seriously all the time.

I guess the point that Sunny is trying to make is, unlike a sitcom or commercial portraying a particular character as an idiot/stupid/etc, the ad in question refers to a broader scope... women in general. I can see both sides =)

Hooters has TV commercials?!? never seen one... but it wouldn't offend me- if having a great body can get you $100 in tips night and you get to keep your clothes on- more power to ya! If i didn't have a visible tat i would have wanted to be a hooters girl in my 20's...

Yea they do....but mostly shown on the Sports channels.....and during sporting events....which my whole family watches alot of. Being a woman - I'm not offended at that either.......Totally fine. Just was wondering.

something funny about Hooters- my 4th grader is studying the Nazi occupation of copenhagen and had to draw a picture with a description of how it changed the Jew's lives- he drew a pic of a HUGE breasted blonde who couldn't get butter or coffee anymore... but her "Hooters" were overwhelmly the focus of the picture...lol

    IT STARTS.
