You should definitely come to the League of Women Voters event tomorrow night. Even if Snow doesn't show (he has said he won't be there), you'll be able to hear the press and audience question Mr. Miller and see and hear his responses firsthand.

As for the Nature Center events, they are individual meet-n-greets, not debates. One week to meet Mr. Miller, one week to meet Mr. Snow.

You can also check out the Chamber of Commerce forum online at http://loudounextra.washingtonpost.com/elections/. Choose "Round 2" to see both Mr. Miller and Mr. Snow answer questions from the Chamber.

Admin, not to butt in here, but I will, can someone tell Flynnibus to take this stuff offline, it's personal in nature between Flynnibus and thePea

I think people really need to know about information venues for the upcoming election and this side stuff is fogging things over.

    Yes! Totally see it now.

thepea2001, I am so sorry to see you put through this complete insanity.
Please don't let it get you down, and never allow yourself to be :censored: from speaking the truth in the face of those who deny it.

I think Snow is not coming to the League of Women Voters event because he may believe, just as the darling of the Republican party, Ann Coulter, that women should not be allowed to vote. This is what Coulter recently had to say, "If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen."

I think that could explain why Snow is unwilling to sit down with women voters - he just does not think that they should vote.

    Gryphon and others--

Just for a bit of levity--should Barbara become a contestant on the TV show DANCING WITH THE STARS? Seeing that she (Barbara) is a "former dance instructor"--sorry Barbara--couldn't resist!:dance:

Hope this helps for some joking around-- My attempt at humor or not? Have fun--

Doesn't Dancing with the Stars require a partner?

I don't expect a grass roots group of citizens to be very professional. I assume that it was tied to the new Loudoun Coalition PAC, since Mr. Maravetz was handing out their bumper stickers. I didn't stop to ask. I would call the chicken a "stunt" or a "gimmick" or "silly", but tasteless...I dunno. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it tastes like chicken.

Steve, I wouldn't sling around "professional" after reading yours and Peas recent postings.

Personally, you two can battle all you want but take it offline, AS YOU HAVE SUGGESTED MANY TIMES to others.

As an Admin, I would hope that you would take "the higher road" and not get deeply involved in some of the petty arguments.

Joy, this is no grassroots group. It is just the October spinoff of tooconservative, and it is attempting to "look" different to try to appear as another group.

The tc people are advertising it as wholly new, but the material was previously aired on the other site, and the individuals hosting and posting are the same group.

No information is readily available on this "new" PAC, because they file their disclosures on paper. This means that anyone wanting to see where there money comes from and goes to has to go to Richmond and request the information from the State Board of Elections Office during regular business hours. Says so right on the VPAP website. Who is going to do that before the election?

I don't know if you've been following the whole FOIA flap with Mr. Burton, but lawsuits have been filed over his communications through his government account with tooconcervative members, some of which contain sexual slurs against the constituents who filed the suits (Mr. Burton did not make the slurs, but he sent and received in the discussion that contains them).

The distribution list on the e-mails (from Mr. Burton's government account, and entered into record at Tuesday's BoS meeting, where Mr. Burton's motion to change State FOIA laws failed) contains tooconservative regulars, tooconservative regulars who also contribute to the new website, the registrant of the PAC of the new website, two eastern Democratic candidates, a member of the LCRC who strongly supports one eastern incumbent only, and a member here at this forum.

    "Grassroots" it ain't.

As T8erman pointed out, I guess you would have to be professional to get the chicken. So, I'm not surprised by your post. Snow was either running from or intentionally snubbing women voters, and he needed to be called out on it. The chicken did the trick.

I tell you what.. when I put on a public event around people's careers that I invite everyone too.. then you can critique my professionalism. Until then, lets keep apples to apples.

Pretty big coincidence that 'foia', 'chicken', and accusations around government computers have all been tossed around in this thread even before the debate.

So which came first.. the chicken or the thread? maybe afgm knew they were going to display a chicken and that inspired his choice of words? Or was it the other way around afgm?

Sounds to me like more people just trying to carry on their battles from elsewhere here. :sickhurl:

Barbara from I know emails are public record and are not private, so people must be careful what they say in them.

    Barbara,

You have no idea what you're talking about. The new PEC site has a wider audience than TC.
