Hey you can cherry pick and take things out of context all you want. And if you want to draw your conclusions on this that is your right. Brassy is right this is too much of a hot button issue. Hey if some of you pro hospital people want to make up lies about me such as I am dating Donna who I have never met. Well that does not look like you all are taking the high road. Lee, darlin, sugar... you have lost all credibility with me for denying this. I truly cannot believe you are trying to spin yourself out of a DIRECT quote and calling others liars.

look at it this way, you will spin it T8 and others to how ever you feel on this topic. It is a hot topic that people only see thru rose colored glasses depending the side you are on. I only asked for a interest bearing fund set up so if you are wrong and you did sacrifice your neighbors property values for your own selfish whims then there is money to help them move. ANd if the hospital does increase property values they get their money back with interest. Just the fact nobody is willing to do this leaves a lot to be questioned that perhaps you are not so sure about your position.

 

Lee seems like a nice enough guy sometimes, but I am tired of his factually wrong and strange points. I'd like to make some points for the anti BRMC crowd.

#1. I do not know it a hospital would lower property values or not, as compared to an office park. If it did lower values it would probably only be by less than 5%. Even with thousands of hospitals in the country, trying to study this would probably be difficult. Say 10% of houses in any given neighborhood sell a any given time. Other variables affect house prices, including the overall market, changes in school pyramids, roads, and major employers. I think a study could be done, but one could twist the statistics in a particular real estate market to fit their hypothesis.

#2. My husband was at the BOS hearing. Their seemed to be a lot of folks there speaking about the hospital. He did not see any for the hospital other than an HCA employee. I suspect many of them were there at Donna's urging, but I did not know anyone who took a bus. To imply that snacks and free transportation would drive the 50+ people he saw to take 4 hours out of their night to speak up is ridiculous. Many people lived very close to the hospital.

#3. I still think that the HOA passing a pro-hospital resolution was a mistake. I don't think that Cliff is part of some great comspiracy, and I do not believe him to be motivated by his own self interests. However I think that he twists the facts slightly to fit his arguments. The reason he said "32 families" was because many couples and some children spoke separately. He did not say "50 people" spoke because "32" sounds like less.

#4. Loudoun has a very young population. If this hospital is turned down, again, I don't think a few extra years of delay is going to hurt this county very much. Instead of citing how many beds are in this County per person, why not ask how many beds there are in this county for each death. Later in life people often need increased health care.

I think your rambling, babbling posts actually sway more people to the "pro" side. Because honestly, with your logic, who would want to be on your side of an arguement?!?!?

 

Did children actually speak at the hearing? If so, this truly disgu, ahh, ARGH!

Children are only going to say what their parents want them to say regardless of what side they are on.

Parents who USED their children in this way should be ASHAMED!

 

My logic will make a lot of sense if this hospital is built on the wrong site. I take a position if a development is correct for a site it does not have this kind of controversy and you protect the people that could be adversely affected you don't sacrifice them when you can protect them and have a win win

T8 - MANY children spoke to the BoS to include Donna's daughter (surrounded by about 30+ of her friends).

I was amazed at her daughters words and providing a statement from a kid's point of view - it takes a lot of guts to talk to adults in such a frank and respectful manner.

... but the other side of me was truly sick to my stomach when I heard kids bring up various topics such as "strangers, pedos, speeders etc" in their respective statements to the dias.

 

I can't believe the kids actually "spoke".

If the hospital is built does it mean the kids can't feel safe playing on the four lane Broadlands Blvd anymore?

 

At least those people had the guts to say who they are and where they live AND IT IS ON tv AGAIN AS WE SPEAK. Interesting how people got up and spoke that live right across from this hospital with real names and addresses and the many on here including some in public service that hide behind your internet anonymity trash other people and their opinions because it differs from theirs. The pro hospital people seem to have a god complex for the ones that live across the street from this site as what is best for them.

 

Lee - pro hospital people do not have a "God complex" - as I have stated I want competition and more choices for healthcare...

 

And even if they do play there - urgent care will be right around the corner - just in case :rolleyes3:

 

We are talking about CHILDREN speaking, not the adults. Children are going to say EXACTLY what their parents want them to say.... EXACTLY.

Linux you captured my perfect imagine. Don't agree with the troll part tho Just answer the question why don't you set up a fund for the AFFECTED PEOPLE JUST IN CASE. Hey you are willing to spend zillions on litigation. It would be far cheaper to protect these people just in case. Or are you afraid that I am right and it will affect property values and quality of life. Put you money where your mouth is and it is settled.
