Four months for the interior? Are they going to actually MAKE donuts there?

Yes, what a novelty! When we lived in NC, Dunkin Donuts moved in less than a block from Krispy Kreme. DD also trucked their donuts in (no baking on site) and sold those pre-made sandwiches and did not offer anyplace to sit and have a coffee! They shut down within 10 months.

It's confusing to me - the Brother In Law in CA outfits interiors for fast food joints. He does the seating area while another contractor does the kitchen. They come in kits (literally - Tab A into Slot B.....). He says an In & Out Burger takes two months tops for a "difficult" install. A DD with no bakery taking four months? The Glove Don't Fit!

That estimate might be for after the site is turned over to the restaurant owner but the builders still have a bit of work to do before it gets to that point.

I've told my daughter that it would definitely be open by the time she returns from Italy...that's not until June, so maybe that might actually happen!

Heck that's nothing compared to the almost 4 years it will have been from the time the first "coming soon" sign was posted.

I am fairly sure I took that picture at some point in the second half of 2005. It's been a while.

we moved out here then very end of 2005....and we were out walking in the early spring on a nice day when the heaven's opened up and there was that glorious sign i saw......which just about vindicated our move out to Broadlands...and it's been a cruel joke on me ever since.

The most appropriate use of that poor, overworked meme I've seen in ages.
