I you only fought as hard for a Dunkin Donuts as you do a new hospital: I would be 10 pound heavier, eating a Boston Cream Donut, drinking a large Dunkin coffee right now. But at least when I have a big heart attack from eating all those donuts I can walk through the woods to get shocked back to life. So it is win, win as far as I can see...Fight more for DD, it will bring more happiness to Broadlands. Donuts make life better and the kids love the sprinkles....

You don' know how hard I did try.
I made the original suggestion to Tetra when they first started that shopping center.
I was told the area was not big enough yet.
Afer the schools were all built and he real estate market was flying, I went back to them again. This time they got someone interested.
I have been in conact wih that franchiser many times via email over the years, even tried to catch him a few times at his other Dunkin in Tyson's corner.
I've tried!!!

 

SAY IT AIN'T SO! how would one go about organizing an obviously vital boycott against another starbux within 3 miles of this neighborhood?!?!? i can't think of a more important issue in LoCo right now to address... lol

This article seems to indicate that the new construction is for a DD/BR.

Anyone else get the same from this article?

I drove around today and there is a solid wall dividing the building into two separate stores (each with it's own main entrance). The other DD/BR combos I have seen are all within the same store. Anyone knows?

 

The one in Leesburg is combined, with two separate doors however.....ice cream on one side and donuts on the other.

 

I think the site was always slated for two different businesses. One the DD/BR combo and another one that was still available.

 

Yes. Wasn't that also one of the reasons given at one time for the delay? I remember something about the DD/BR owner not being willing to start building until the other unit had a signed lease.

THERE'S an idea for the second unit!!!!
"Ashburn Liposuctions Available Under the Same Roof of Ashburn DD/BR"

 

Hopefully the second unit is something this area truly needs and doesn't already have. I'd hate to see even more duplication when we already have enough struggling businesses.

 

Please, don't any y'all take this personal.... but it's DUNKIN DONUTS. I mean - they are not going to hand out diamond encrusted, platinum crullers or anything. It's not even a Krispy Kreme with the "Fresh Hot Donuts" sign in front. It's a COOKBOOK.... er, sorry, I mean... IT'S A DONUT SHOPPE!!!!!

Now, if it was a nail place combined with a Pho kitchen, I might get excited.
