Sorry to hear that you despise me. I have four children. My oldest son goes to the University of California at Berkley, my second son is a truckdriver, my two daughters are planning on being teachers. You are so damn clueless. Have children, raise them, and then talk about how to raise kids.

Well since you were the one child I can understand that decision.

I'm not religious, but I would have the say that the above post isn't being very respectful to your god... I thought "he" was supposed to be compassionate and loving =)

Congratulations. I don't see why people feel it's necessary to have more than two children...it just creates a burden on future resources and space. You have to consider what if every couple had four to five children...you would have quadrupled the population in one generation. Thank goodness the number of five+ member households has fallen in recent years.

In reality they weren't very well off early in their marriage and couldn't support more than one child...but thanks for your analysis and witty, original response.

And since you're not having kids, you'll never see it. That's your loss. It takes having a child of your own to fully understand how much joy they can bring into your life. I pity that you won't have the opportunity to experience it for yourself. Maybe it would temper your disdain for those "selfish, shortsighted, inconsiderate" parents who choose to have more than two children.

Have you ever considered moving to China, by the way? They have a one child limit per family. That's twice as good as the two-child limit that you would seem to support!

Note: edited to preempt further personal attacks against my reading ability and to make it harder to avoid addressing the substantive arguments of the post by nitpicking about the use of a particular word or phrase.

sigh...I don't have any bitterness towards children, aparently you can't read or you just want to continue to make me look like the 'bad guy' by continuing to promote that supposedly I dislike children.

Again, you are a master of spinning my words into whatever you please...I never 'proposed a two child limit', I said I didn't understand why people feel the need to have more than two. In the future, please don't twist my words to fit your agenda against me. Thanks.

Brim - It's none of their business if you chose not to have children. My sister-in-law and her husband decided not to have kids and I have several friends who also chose not to! They're all wonderful people, just decided for whatever reason not to have kids. My husband and I chose to have only one child. He just graduated from UVA with Honors and is now working for a top company and LOVES children, he coaches basketball to fifth graders and is planning on doing the same when baseball season starts. Just to make a point to the others - He is not a spoiled brat. I have friends who have two and three kids who are so spoiled, it's not funny, so just having one child doesn't mean they're automatically spoiled! Get out of that stereotype of thinking. We worked hard to bring our child up with manners, respectful of others and being a good citizen. We're very proud of him.

Tyger I agree....as it is none of Brim's business if anyone else chooses to have 6 or 7 kids.

Exactly!!!! To each his own! What works for some people may not necessarily work for you.

Hey Brim - did you eve think that maybe some families have both parents working and would rather spend the money so they can have more quality family time vs. cleaning (or fighting about cleaning)? Additionally posting new threads for a topic can garner additional input.

As for the post - we use H & R Maids bi-weekly of $85- ask for Tony (the owner) 571-259-6064, our house is around 4K Sqf - we have used this service for about 18 months are very pleased with them

Brim - Bottom line for years you have dominated this site and it's users with your opinions- this person was looking for info. When are you going to get the message and open up a profile on myspace.com..ALSO you also seem to forget this site is for Broadlands Home Owners, granted it is on a public venue...last time I checked you moved out of the area years ago.
