Re: Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant Opening April 2011 Ashburn Location

    Hi,

We were at Los Toltecos last week and the owners said the Grand Opening will be April 2011 for the Ashburn location. He said delays were because of the buying equipment and remodeling. He didn't say exact date just to look for April 2011.

Great food and kids eat FREE on Wednesdays too. We love this place. When we shop near Dulles Town Center we always stop by to eat.

Our fav place near our farm/home is in Warrenton at El Agave and one notch above Los Toltecos for us. Both are good places.

    El Agave's site is below--

Re: Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant Opening March 28, 2011 Ashburn Location

    Hi,

FYI--I had a lunch meeting with one of our vendors for our farm web-based business today at Los Toltecos in Sterling. I asked if they were still opening in April 2011. The manager said, "No." Grand Opening will be 03/28/11.

    Hope that helps--

    Foodie:)

I really doubt they're opening tomorrow (3/28). We drove by today around 11:30 am and there was no one there. You could see the sign saying opening soon. There's no sign on the building, and the film is on the windows. What I could see was a couple of chairs wrapped in plastic next to one window.

We went tonight and it was very good! The service was great. Food for our table of four was served hot and was tasty. We enjoy the Sterling location and have been looking forward to having this one close by. We will definitely be back!

Just curious; for your family of four, what was the ballpark of the final tab?

We had 3 meals and 1 kid's meal, cheese dip, and a few sodas. Bill was around $54.

We had dinner there tonight. Place was full by 6 pm, only a couple of tables available. Steady stream coming in. Food was very good as was service. Margarita was very strong and very good. Another regular place to add to our rotation in Ashburn.

Sitting here now at LosT. Asked for our check 25 minutes ago. Finally arrived with no apology for the wait. Food, frankly, was so-so. My fajita beef did not seem to have much flavor. Like they don't marinate it. Food arrived hot and sizzling, but that's about the best I can say. We didn't get chips and salsa, though other tables did. Maybe you have to order it as an appetizer?

    I can't say we'll be back soon.

We had constant attention. Our waiter came by multiple times to check on us. Check came within 3-4 minutes of our request. Chips and salsa were brought to us as soon as we sat down. No, you do not have to order them. We had the same good food and service as we've always had at Sterling. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Did you say anything to the manager or just sit there?

We had a great experience there last night. Plentiful chips (filled twice), great food, great service. We spoke with our server, who was a long term employee, about the place. It seems like they brought in their experienced staff to make it work from the beginning. We will also be adding it to our rotation.

One would hope that when you get up from your table and go to the hostess desk to ask that they track down your waiter for the check, you shouldn't have to ask to see a manager. I would hope he would bring the check and inquire.

Instead, the waiter rushed by a minute or so later and slid the check across the table.

Perhaps we just caught them at a bad time.

It is my humble opinion that if you want to eat at a restaurant, it should be a prerequisite that you have worked in one at one point in time. That would solve a lot of problems and make people happier in general.

well customers do not visit a restaurant to get buddy with the servers.. they go in to have a meal made and served to them.

There is a difference between respecting someone in their job - and letting someone off the hook for doing their job.

Jobs are hard - that's why they call it work :) If an employee is put in a situation where they can't do their job up to what it should be - then that will reflect badly on the business in the long run as the customers will not get what they came in for.

I can emphasize with someone for having a difficult job - doesn't mean I don't expect them to deliver on the job's responsibilities.

Furniture Movers work hard.. and under stress to get a job done quickly. I emphasize for them. Doesn't mean I don't expect my furniture to arrive undamaged, or if it does it damaged doesn't mean I don't expect the situation to be resolved in a reasonable manner.
