Ok, so I call AAA on Monday to come get my stuff because they didn't get it on Saturday (my fault, I forgot, however they refused to pick my neighbors up claiming the truck was too full). They tell me to have it out by 7AM today (Friday 4/7) and if nobody picked it up by 3 to call them back. I just called back and the guy basically called me a liar claiming he never told me anything about 7AM. Anyway, he's telling me 1-4 weeks to pick it up, blah blah blah! I just want this out of my garage before the new stuff comes. I'm in TH in SW and most of us are still stuck with our AAA stuff. This is really frustrating...

Mark it as "TRASH: PLEASE HAUL AWAY" for the New Vision people. AAA has had plenty of time to pick up their stuff.

That's what I told AAA I was going to do...right before I hung up because I had heard enough of their crap! Love the idea!

I would post it on Freecycle or sell it on Craigslist - Those toters sell for about $70.00 new.

We got our trash toters, but weren't we supposed to get the recycling as well?

Nine (9) AAA toters have been lined up in front of my house for over 4 days. Recycling tubs were picked up by AAA last week. Haven't received a toter or any recycling tubs as of 4pm on Saturday (4/8) here on Spring Morning Ct. All streets around us have received theirs... most recently Vestals Gap today. My wife talked to New Visions driver and reminded him about our street, and the guy said that we would be getting them today. So far nothing. This is beyond ridiculous... it is a total debacle.

Its 4pm on Saturday and no trash cans! I predict we'll see the trash cans arriving about the same time we see gas at .33 per gallon.
Maybe your "Soprano" friends hijacked the truck coming out of Georgia? So now they will be delivered while everyone is on spring break and the burglars will have a field day on what house to break into.

OK, I have to be snarky now.

You would think the world is ending b/c people don't have their toters. Can you give you some trash bags to use for the next week or so? Would that help you out?

Relax. Worry about something that matters. Or have a happy day!

PamD -- give me your address, and I'd love to bring my trash over to rot on your garage floor, as it doesn't seem to bother you.

So what's their excuse now??? Can't deliver in the rain?? Shipment from Georgia just didn't arrive on time??

come on people. Good lord. Now because you don't have a totter you don't know how to put trash somewhere? Please stop being so dramatic.

Put it in a trash bag. Think it will leak? PUT IT IN TWO bags. Honestly, this isn't such a big deal.

We have not received ours as of yet either and would I like it, sure. But we will continue go on despite this harsh reality in our lives, good Lord willing. ;)

I look at it this way, at least they are picking up the trash. It is not like I am building Mt. Trashmore in my backyard.

And for what it is worth, yes there has been some significant bad weather in the southeast the past few days, check the death count (sorry to be extreme). So, everyone relax and the toters will be here when they get here.

The world is not ending just yet. What would help me out is I'll bring my trash to your house and you can store it for me. Oh by the way we had steamed shrimp for dinner tonight so by morning it should be good and ripe.

Here's a thought.. PUT IT IN THE GARAGE. You know.. probably a few MILLION people in this country alone manage to do that EVERY DAY.

If its too much for you.. put it in multiple bags.

But honestly.. at this point.. this is nothing but whining.

If its that dramatic for you.. spend 30 minutes and $10 and goto Home Depot and buy a trash can.

The amount of time some people have spent complaining about this is absurd. Now if we had NO trash pickup, and we had to take trash to the dump ourselves.. now that would be worth a rise. But the fact you don't have a TRASH CAN? Or the fact *GASP* trash needs to sit inside the house? Someone call 911!!

Now I can understand why we need 4 way stops anywhere two roads intersect. People can't handle themselves at all here.

So you had steamed shrimp knowing you did not have a toter yet. And who's fault is that pray tell? I hope it was good!

Amye, well said! Looks like the HOA rushed into the new contract putting the CART IN FRONT OF THE HORSE.

Oh please ... this was researched completely before we changed horses so to speak. Ashburn Village is very happy with the New Vision, and once this glitch is over with Broadlands will be too, and at less money per household.

FWIW ... how long have you lived in the Broadlands? It obvious you have not see how bad AAA could be or you would not be complaining about a few days without a toter.

A few days of inconvenience will eventually result in a better service for all.

No, as matter of fact, I don't. And if I wasn't afraid of escalating the situation, I would share my address to store everyone's garbage until pickup TOMORROW.

Everyone's garbage could sit right next to the nasty litterbox contents sitting there now.

But then again, what would be left to whine about? Oops, I forgot my audience.

P.S. Apologies for making this an ugly place. I usually hate bickering. But I couldn't resist....
