restaurants closing

I always wonder about them and about the little coffee cafe by the Ice House. If they were on the other side of the street to catch the morning rush hour traffic they might stand a better chance. I don't think that people want to get out of line to cross the street only to have to cross again to get back in the car line of traffic. A place with a drive thru on the other side of Waxpool on the other hand...

 

i confirmed TODAY that Cafe Rumi IS NOT CLOSING. struggling- sure. but fighting to stay in biz.

they now have TWELVE FLAVORS OF GENUINE GELATO of all kinds. He's also going to be doing a special meal deal soon.

If you love this place and want to see it stay here instead of moving away- PLEASE support the biz and go! Have breakfast- the omelettes and waffles are fabulous and fluffy. lunch- the sandwiches are fresh and so so delicious. Have Gelato- awesome summer treat! he has smoothies too--- so show some support and GET OUT THERE.

 

Not sure if this was posted yet but the Southern Walk Starbucks is closing on June 19th.

 

That soon? How do you know? Is this a rumor or confirmed?

 

By the signs on the door & windows, I'd say it's confirmed.

 

Bummer, that one is so much nicer than the one by Safeway.

 

The one by Wegmans is planned for closure this month too. That's according to a press release from Starbucks.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if all of the "fast food" type of restaurants go out of business in that plaza. When it takes 10-20 minutes to get out of there, I'm surprised there hasn't been more churn in that area.

 

You know, people say this but I haven't experienced it myself. What days/times do you have this problem? Maybe it's because most of the time I'm going during the daytime on weekdays.

 

I'm guessing Domani in the Ashburn Village shopping center must have closed because on Friday (yesterday) there was a grand opening of the Pines of Florence in that spot. I wasn't a fan of Domani so hopefully I'll like Pines better.

 

See ad in "Ashburn Today" for $5 off. It's owned by the former owner/manager (?) of GG Cafe in Leesburg. Should be good.

I always thought Domani's was closing for a re-fit, but I guess not.

 

I really liked Domani -- my wife not so much. I guess Mezza Grill is his only restaurant now... which I like too, but don't see how they will survive either.

 

Just tried the Pines of Florence, which REPLACED Domani- it was really delicious! big group of us from baseball went and everyone was VERY pleased with their meals. they made half portions for the kids since they don't have a specific kid's menu. fantastic service- excellent experience overall!

Do you know if by any chance this 'Pines of Florence' is related to the one in Arlington. When we lived there it was our favorite local Italian restaurant.

 

it must be! the menu is the same as the one in Arlington. i didn't get to speak with the owner but i am sure that will happen soon. the house chianti was excellent, btw!

 

yes - it is they have 3 other locations I think.

 

I hope it's good!! I read reviews online about the other locations and overall people weren't pleased with the food quality. Many of the comments stated that the food tasted like it had been frozen and microwaved. I really hope this location is good because I'd like to have a good local Italian place.
