regardless if a light is there or not, if some knuckle-head is coming too fast off the greedway, a light will not magically stop them. As a driver you must alway remain in a defensive mode while you drive and anticipate others mistakes or in this case, carelessness. In your case, you saw a problem, and fortunatly you stopped at the last minute. We all need to understand that around this area, people drive aggressively and without regards for others, so take a few extra minutes and watch for the others. Chances are, it won't cost you much more time in your travels and it will save yourself some troubles, or even a life.

 

Im surprised nobody is talking about the accident that happened at this intersection yesterday!

Involved two cars, one of which was an Audi, and was still being cleaned up at about 6pm when I came to the intersection. The audi looked badly damaged, as if someone ran the stop sign.

Now how long before the lights come on?

The lights are blinking red today.

 

Since I started this thread over 3 months ago, the only thing I can say is…HALLELUIAH!

 

If anyone travels this direction to get to 50, the lights are also blinking red at Gum Springs Rd, and Evergreen Mills intersection.

Went to the intersection today and the lights are working. As I was waiting at red light, a car pulled up in the lane next to me, hesitated a few seconds and proceeded to go through the red light, narrowly missing getting creamed by a truck.
I see this happen a lot at intersections when lights are turned on. Be very vigilant going through that intersection for the next few months.
