Where did you get your chiminea? We bought a great one in Phoenix only to learn it cost too much! So our brother in-law got a gift. But I kept my stand!

We got a clay one at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago. It didn't weather very well, so when we moved here last fall from Alexandria we left it behind. We are definitely going to get another one. We are thinking about trying a metal one -- not sure where we are going to get it yet.

hornerjo, sorry for contributing to getting this thread off-topic!

Another good place to get steaks is Sam's club. Their tender loin steaks are really tender and full of flavor.

I am quite pleased at how consistent their steak flavor and quality have been - haven't had a bad one yet!

The lines are also much shorter than Costco which makes it nice and quick to pick stuff up there.

I think Weg's has a better selection of meat...depends what you want to pay for, Choice, Prime...etc. You don't get those options at Costco. Parking in either can be a nightmare, depending on when you go. I find Weg's folks more helpful...And I like the cost break ifyou buy 4 or more...

Got to support tiny and independent Partlows. Great meats and seafood. Definately worth checking out. They are in Old Town Ashburn, next to bike trail.

Anybody know where I can get a propane tank filled around here? I know I can do an exchange at Home Depot but I need one filled.

Funny that question was posted... I've been on the hunt as well for a place to FILL my propane tank. The closest that I can find is Southern States in Purcellville or AmeriGas in Purcellville. I can't find anything in Leesburg, Sterling, or Ashburn. I used to get it filled at Southern States in Leesburg but they went out of business last summer.

The other option is to just do an exchange at almost any local gas station, walmart or home depot.

BJ's in Fair Lakes fills them up, thats the only place I've seen locally. Back home in TN, all the UHaul dealerships had propane fillup service...dunno about up here.

Forget getting it re-filled. Places that re-fill propane are becoming obsolete. There are plenty of places now that exchange propane tanks (Blue Rhino) but I won't tell you my secret place that always has one available. (Too many part-time Bar-B-Q'rs who run on Home Depot on the first warm weekend and I need 24/7 availability!!).

There are several places to get a tank filled but here are 2 places.

For $20 up to 20lbs, there's a nursery across from Gold's Gym on Rt7. On Old Ox rd going towards Herndon, there's D&B rentals on the left side. I think it cost a bit over $20.

My favorite place is the nursery since they're open on Sundays.

And I would never swap my tanks for a rhino tank. Just think of the reaction from BBQ Galores when they ask me about my "equipment" :) Seriously nothing wrong with a rhino tank.

Oh and I would advice everyone to get 2 tanks. 1 as a back up. I learned the hardway with guest at my house and had to drive around on a Sunday looking for a place to fill it up. Thats how I found the nursery.

Thanks for the locations. I always have two tanks on hand. A good one that I refill and a swap out Blue Rhino that I use as a spare. The Blue Rhino tanks can look a bit scary sometimes. Old and rusty. But I will say that last Blue Rhino swap out tank I got at Home Depot looked new.

Anyone really wanting 24/7 availability should look into getting a plumber to run a NG line out to your deck or patio. I'm on my 2nd NG grill and really enjoy not having to deal with the tank shuffle anymore........

I don't know the name of the place, but you can get your propane tanks refilled on Route 606, just east of the Greenway, heading toward Route 28. There is a deli on the right side of the road and this place is just past the deli on the right. I have gotten a propane refill on a friend's RV there.

Walmart is only like $12.96 for a tank exchange, alot less than places like HD, etc.

I second the advice about having a backup tank. Nothing worse than running out of gas in the middle of a meal!

Oh, and for the record, I have a very nice grill and have no problem connecting a Rhino tank to it. The gas inside cooks everything the same, folks. I have never had a problem with the quality/maintenance of their tanks, either.

I use the exchange at Home Depot (I may be wrong, but I think they use Rhino tanks). I think the cost is pretty comparable to the quoted Walmart cost, and IMO it is a lot more convenient. It is a lot closer than any of the other locations discussed above, you don't have to fight the Walmart traffic, and you can pull your car right up to the exchange station (to the right of the contractor's entrance).

And I give a big thumbs down (Boo!) to the Mobil/Circle K -- I have tried to exchange tanks there twice. The first time, I got a blank stare and then the excuse that "all our tanks are empty." The second time, the same blank stare and then the excuse that "our manager is not here, and he has the only key." AND, they are a lot more expensive than Home Depot! They stink!

I agree with the tank exchange @ Home Depot. It costs $12 and change, very convenient, and basically curb service. They do use Rhino Tanks.
