Get used to it, when the commercial development is opened there, and Wynridge is open to old Ryan into the new developments there, you'll see alot more traffic heading to Claiborne for Route 7, etc.

    Just call me:

    OBVIOUS MAN :D

Seriously though, some residents don't realize what is going to happen on that side of Wynridge ...

I just came back from Brambleton. That's a nice signal they have over there! What did that take them, 3 or 4 months? It will be interesting to see if our guys meet the promised 12/17 date.

Helps when the developer planned to have the light installed in the first place. Probably had the cable chases installed before the paving.

BTW ... the other day they were boring for the cables at Broadlands and Claiborne. All the footings are in, and are curing, so it looks like they may actually hit the blinking light deadline they placed on themselved.

There are concrete footings with the pole bolts sticking through the top at the corners of Broadlands and Claiborne, so now they need the poles. Once the poles arrive and are installed, I'm sure they'll remember that they need to order the traffic lights. That should be good for another month or two delay...[}:)]

Actually it took a bit longer. They ran the cable chases and sensors in Feb./Mar. Then it seemed like nothing happened for ages. Then in October, the installation resumed. What was surprising was that the lights were only flashing for a week before they were turned on permanently (just before Thanksgiving).

However, considering the first houses were occupied in late 2002/early 2003, it is like 4 months—in Broadlands' years. ;)

Not that our lights haven't taken loooooong enough, but that intersection certainly needs them much more than any intersection we have in B-lands.

Steve, the footing are in, nothing says the cables are run yet though. As I mentioned, they were boring for the cables the other day. Next thing would be junction boxes, so that's what they may have been diging.

    LOstSOul,
The light in Brambleton was blinking for only a week. Let's hope that's the case for the lights in Broadlands.

Maybe now is not the best time to ask- but why not...

Does anyone else but me think that the light at Claiborne/Waxpool is not really needed? I don't know if I've ever seen traffic backup more than 3 cars deep at the 4-way stop. IMHO, a traffic light will actually be less efficient than the current 4-way stop.

    Thoughts?
