I'm tired of the big teasing sign that says "Dunkin Donuts Coming Soon". Does anyone have any intel on when this fine establishment with the greatest coffee ever will open????? Starbucks is the devil.

    Re: dunkin donuts?!?!?!?!

It appears, for now, it is not going to be built. I have contacted the Commercial Property Association and asked them to have the site cleaned up.....weeds cut down and the mound of dirt removed.

this is NOT good news at all..........when i contacted Dunkin Donuts about it..they said they didn't have an ETA to when it would open...they didn't tell me it was never going to happen.

One can only hope the issue will be resolved between Tetra and the DD owner and it may yet get built.

Something to do with the clay content od the soil not being suitable for building.

If that were the case, half of the land in Broadlands would be unusable ... it sure doesn't lend itself to gardening easily ! :pofl:

Yeah, I agree. Something about that doesn't seem right to me. All of Broadlands is clay. I've never heard of it preventing building. Wouldn't that have been discovered when they did a soil sample, prior to them laying the footer for the bulding?

...and why wouldn't the developer provide the contractor with a suitable building pad with controlled fill??

Could it have anything to do with the fact that the area to the 'left' of the pad is quasi-swampland (I know it's not a swamp, I just don't know how to describe it), and maybe the clay soil and the 'moisture' from that area can cause foundation issues?

Heck, I'm a computer guy, not a builder, so I'm just shooting blind here...

In my opinion DD is not that good. Not such a big loss in it not being built!Little consistency on freshness. I think a mom and pop donut shop needs to open. Back in IL where we moved from there was a Country Donuts where the donuts purchased were warm and gooey right out of the oven. Freshest imaginable. DD does not do that! Maybe DD is good on coffee but we have that in Starbucks!

i could care less about the donuts..it's the coffee i'm after. Starbucks is ridiculous...i don't need to pay 5 bucks for a shot of coffee and 10 oz of steamed milk---and call it a coca frapa latte. but there's already 104 starbucks within a mile of my house...we could use a little refreshment. :kungfu:

we used to have Winchells donuts before DD ran them out of business- those were the fluffiest most delicious fat bombs ever! I enjoy my $1.09 cuppa joe from Sunoco and hope that NO MORE starbucks open within 5 miles of here! good grief, enough is enough with them...
