So, they clear out the area, waste all the trees, compromise the bull frog pond, level it out, install all the curb and gutter then abandon the job? What's up with that? Somebody should be responsible for either finishing it out or restoring it to its original condition. Another half-finished mess.

That's Bull Frog pond? I always thought Bull Frog was the pond behind Small Branch Place.
    I'm so confused

You're correct, that area is basically an marshy area, but has been known (if I remember right) as the Butterfly something-or-other.

    Buttlerfly Meadow.
I've already contacted the CPA twice about getting the area cleaned up. It's a hazard and an eyesore right now. It's still a buildable pad site and therefore a valuable piece of property. It will be built on eventually, not restored to its former undeveloped condition.

Sorry, got my nature areas mixed up! Used to be a lot of frogs (spring peepers) in there, though.

There may be a glimmer of hope. Wes was over there the other day and saw someone working on the site. There's a new general contractor that will be cleaiing the area up. He said that althouth the soil was soft, it was still buildable. The footers would just need to be a few feet deeper.

Does anyoe know if DD-BR still has the contract for that pad? The sign being taken down makes me think it might have been contracted out to another leasee maybe...

The sign was in violation of the county sign ordinance, so that may be why it was taken down.

i was over there last night getting one of the chicken philly's from that pizza joint----wow are those things good!!! anyway..i saw the fence up and the mountain of dirt gone, and my wife was like "wow maybe they're finally doing something"...and then my heart sank when i saw the sign gone. So i'm very happy to read that it was in violation and maybe that's why it was gone!!!! i'm still holding out hope that the wonderful taste of DD coffee may bless ashburn yet!!! the other morning i was forced into stopping at Starbucks for a cup of sludge...and i say forced b/c she's pregnant---so when she jumps, i say "off a cliff????"

Thanks for the positive info....i'll keep my fingers crossed until that place opens...and then i will be waiting by the door on day #1 to get an XL cup of joe....cream and sugar.

Received the following email from the owner:

We are moving forward. Unfortunately with the same soil with deeper footings and more cost. Right now as it stands the building is planned to be ready by Feb 13th unless any unforeseen comes. Dunkin May be 2 months from then.
