It does look from the Ryan Rd side that they need to still do work at the intersection there. However, there is now a stop sign heading south on Ryan Rd. as you approach the 90 degree turn that was not there before.

Every day I come home hoping it will be open. :( I was disappointed a couple of weeks ago to see the equipment blocking the end of Stone Hollow replaced with a (somewhat more permanent-seeming) barricade. It is obvious from lots of factors that my driving frustration is not a priority for the developer! [:0]

According to Van Metre, the road should be open in about 7-10 days.

    It'll be open for Christmas
You just wait and see ...
    It needs some paving
    and finish striping
    and mulch around the trees.

    Christmas Eve will find me
where I want to be ....
    It'll be open for Christmas
If only in my dreams !!

(sung to 'I'll be home for Christmas')

But I did drive on it yesterday. I, too, snuck through the barrels, which were suspiciously far apart, and drove all the way to Ridgeway it's all paved. [}:)]Ahhh bliss. But sorry to see yet another stop sign at the turn... for no apparent reason.

BTW - didn't they say before it would be open by Thanksgiving? More wishful thinking?

It may be paved, but there is final signage and striping that is needed in areas, and there an area of Ryan Rd that needs final paving. That's waiting on warmer temperatures than an average of 36 degrees.

BTW ... where exactly is that stop sign you're talking about ??

They did try to have it open by Thanksgiving, but again, the weather was not cooperating.

Speaking of stop signs, it appears that someone planned ahead (for once) and the intersection of Clairborne & Ridgeway/Wyndridge will be a four way stop. That would have been a killer intersection with no stop signs on Claiborne.

So they can sod the new house behind me when its freezing... actually, I can see why it's difficult in the cold (certainly they didn't get anything done today!). Somebody must read this, since the dorks put up real barriers there. [8D]

The stop sign is at the turn from the extension of Ryan Road (or whatever it is) onto Wynridge. There are only 2 streets meeting at 90 degree angle there. With only one way to go, a stop sign seems unnecessary.

I believe you also have the tollroad dumping into there, and traffic heading to cross left onto Ryan.

It should be soon I would think as the Ryan Rd. intersection appears to be complete now with the stop signs, repaving and line markings all in place.

At the last HOA board meeting, the developer did say before Christmas, so I would think any day now.

Just wondering, that section of Claiborne that is closed off and looks to open soon is really nice. I walk my dog down it almost every night. The only problem I see is that it looks like they are about to open it but there is no area to walk beside the road. Currently I have to walk my dog in the middle of the road but that's not a problem because no one is driving on it yet :) are there plans to continue the walking path that is so nice down this way as well? If there is it does not look like they took that into consideration with the grading they did.

We are in the same boat as L0stS0ul -- we are very concerned about that road opening without a path beside it. We enjoy walking our dogs there because there is no chance of them doing their business on anyone's property. There are paths along all the other major roadways in Broadlands -- we assumed there would be one on the rest of Claiborne.

At one time it looked like there were stakes that could have been marking a potential path. But it certainly looks like the road will open long before they get around to putting a path in.

If anyone has any information, it would be appreciated. If there are NO plans to put a path there, I'd like to raise the issue with someone.

FWIW ... the current walking paths along Claiborne didn't exist when Claiborne went through initially. Neither were the sidewalks along Broadlands Blvd.

I suspect that the paths along Claiborne will show up when the developer reaches that point in their timetable.s

neilz -- do you recall how long it took after the roads were in before the walking paths followed?

I'll be sad to lose our dog walking route. We can walk in the area alongside I guess, but pretty messy without established grass yet, especially when it rains.

Can't remember for sure, I would hope by the end of next year, but we can check at the next HOA board meeting.

If I understand you correctly, you are thinking of the main intersection where the road currenly ends. There is another stop sign, after you pass the toll road/ryan road intersection -- past where the barriers now are. There is a right turn where two roads meet at a 90 degree angle, and stop signs there.
