I received a letter from Safeway, through Saul Centers, stating that the intensity of the gas sign has been turned down. Can anyone confirm this?

It's been toned down from blinding to annoying.

Honestly, even though I don't live right next to it; I don't notice a difference in the lights - they're still pretty bright. Why do they need to be a digital readout anyway? We can all read the flip signs just fine.

Yea it looks like it's been toned down a little but man it is still bright. It could be half that intensity and still do what it needs to do. I still get blinded by it when I turn the corner ;)

digital = easy. Someone can change their prices from anywhere without lifting a finger. The pumps, displays, etc all can be centrally managed.

Manual system require manual labor.. and replacement pieces.. etc. The digital read-out would be self-maintaining as long as the components last.

I'm just surprised that it doesn't appear to have a "daylight" intensity and a "dark" intensity. It's not like that's novel technology -- my alarm clock has it.
