Call the service advertised on the flyer and talk to the manager. If they realize potential customers are annoyed then perhaps they'll stop distributing them.

You could start with Sports Clips. All the doors on my street were littered with their flier this morning.

Amvrosia hit every car in my CHURCH parking lot this Sunday during church services. We all came out to fliers tucked under our windshields. Tacky, in my book.

That is pretty lame - but I guess they view it the same as any other parking lot

Actually not really so lame... they serve breakfast on Sundays...probably trying to get the after church service crowd to give them a try...not condoning it, but it's not a bad marketing strategy

The majority of the fliers on our doorstep are from "Maid Cleaning Service" and according to the guy distributing them, the other three or four fliers bundled with them are from other companies paying Maid Cleaning Service to distribute them.

I've called "Maid Cleaning Service" about this a few times. Each time, they claim there is no manager and no one speaks English. They also say they have no mailing address and then hang up.

So I'm really not sure what else I as an individual who does not speak Spanish fluently can do.

Why not initially act as if you're a potential customer asking for information, and then go into the flier issue. I have a strange suspicion that their English might be a tad better...

You could collect as many of their fliers as you can, then call to order service. When they arrive to clean your house tell them you changed your mind and hand them their fliers back.

So I'm on my way out to pick up dinner around 7:30pm, and at the intersection of Autumnwood Square and Vestals Gap Drive, a LoCo Deputy is speaking to two young individuals who match this description. I distinctly heard the Deputy say "and this is an official warning..." as he handed over a summons. The interesting thing is that they weren't driving anything. On the way home 20 minutes later, I saw these same two being picked up by a light gray Ford full-size van. I'm willing to bet these are the same folks, and hopefully we won't be seeing them again. Hopefully.

Yeah well I warned him I was calling but he insisted on hanging around. So you get what you deserve if you don't listen to warnings

You think that will scare them away? Only temporarily, methinks!

Doubt it; word gets around quickly in those 'circles'. When they realize that "Those Broadlands nutjobs will actually call the cops if we don't have the right paperwork.", they'll move on to the next development. You can cover a whole lot more ground when you don't have to stop to talk to 'the law' ;)

They came by here last night ... it was after DARK. I opened the second story window (I do not open the door for strangers, but was concerned it was someone I knew and it was important), the woman asked "for the lady of the house and that she was selling cleaning products" and I told her not interested. She left. Its creepy. Who goes to someone's door after dark?

"Hi, y'all. I come from a broken family in a poor area and I decided to try to make something of myself. Now, I know you would rather I try to better myself by legitimate means than by getting into trouble wouldn't you? So, I'm taking orders for popular magazines to help pay my way through skool. What do you like to do? If you take a look at this list, I'm sure you can find some publications matching your interests and you'll notice that they come at a significantly reduced price. It would really help me a lot if you, like many of your neighbors would partner with me in my efforts to better myself."

    (sniff sniff boo hoo) :bawling:

    no thanks. buh bye.

I had a visit from a white female yesterday evening, selling the cleaning products. My 3-year-old ran to the door first, so she said she wanted to show me how to get his fingerprints off the glass. I told her no thanks, I was busy, and she left without incident...but the whole thing left me feeling a little "off." Maybe it was because I got the feeling she was on drugs.

I also get very annoyed at the flyers in the door and the solicitors.

Maureen is correct on the laws. However, once you step on private property, it is a different story. I have no-trespassing signs on my yard which makes procesution of someone on your property a little easier. It does not matter if they have fliers or are trying to sell something.

I had one gentleman refuse to leave my property, so a quick call to the LCSO put him in the back of a cruiser. I just wanted to make a point, so I did not press charges, but could have. If you catch someone stuffing something in your door, I consider that destruction of private property....again a call to LCSO will remey the situation.

I do like the suggestion of actually pretending to be an interested customer and have the company come out for an estimate, etc. THis is similar to answering credit card ads that come with prepaid envelopes and filling them with lead so they have to pay $20.

Just out of curiosity, would a UPS/Fedex delivery person coming to your door be considered trespassing, if you have those signs all over your property?
